How do they get  deer to cross at those yellow "deer crossing" signs?

It's in the "How to be a deer" handbook. All deer get one at birth.

Well someone should add a chapter on "looking both ways before crossing the street" ...  I'm seeing a lot of dead deer at curbside lately...

They don't.  They cross where it's really dark and there's lights off in the distance so you can't see them crossing.  Then they cause $1400 worth of damage to your $3000 car.

Is it weird that I only see deer in the road during hunting season?

My bf thinks I'm full of it.. But I just don't ever see them during the summer and never have...

It comes with a Garmin... Turn left at the oak tree!

No, you're not crazy.  It just so happens that hunting season and mating season are at the same time, so the ones you see in the road are the bucks chasing tail (doe ass).  I live in rural NC, and I see them year round, but the majority during mating season - in the fall mainly in November.
