Ludicrous Debate
and i contine to do it again and again. i catch other people doing it too. it baffles and amuses me.
i will be walking along, and trip on nothing. i won't fall, but you know the "whoa that was dumb" type of stumble on the invisible rock thing. i continue to walk. but i look back at "what i tripped over" even though i knew it was nothing. everyone does it. guarantee one of ya'll will do it tomorrow. you'll then look behind you to see what you tripped over. there is nothing. and you continue to walk.
what's really bad is when you're walking up to someone and they're watching you. they watch you trip, and then they watch you look back to see what you tripped on.
why oh why do we look back when we know we tripped on nothing?????

by kb714 on Nov. 13, 2008 at 1:44 PMI think we look back in hopes that there really is something there that made us trip. Tripping over nothing makes us look like a real doof... so if we can place blame on that "uneven sidewalk" or "damn that stick!" We'd feel better about the trip we just went on.
I'll never forget the time I was walking home from school, (8th grade.) I was crossing at an intersection where a bunch of HOT catholic private HS boys were waiting at the bus stop for their metro ride home... I don't know HOW it happened, but my feet just came UP and OUT from underneath me, and down I went HARD on my ARSE, landed right in front of a car waiting at the now GREEN light.. All those little preppy bastards had a good laugh about it. My tailbone hurt for weeks afterwards lol.. I now think it was a test of God, he tested his precious little Catholic school boys to see if they would help someone in need and they did nothing but laugh lol... (I don't blame them really, I bet from their POV it was pretty darn funny :) |

by iheartsquishies on Nov. 14, 2008 at 11:57 AMthat makes sense. it's sort of a "filler" motion...because we know there is nothing there. yet we're determined that there is, or we've gotta have something to do while people have been watching us during such a stoopid moment ;)
i'm so sorry but i lmao at your story. :D |

by runawaybunny on Nov. 14, 2008 at 6:01 PMForce of habit from looking to see the things I really do trip over. Which just goes to show you how clumsy I am that I trip enough to develop a standard tripping behavior.
