I searched around cafemom and was unable to find any other groups for all of us dreaded mamas. As a fairly new knotty one I thought it would be cool to have others to talk to about life with dreadlocks.... Be it the oft strange questions we get (do you ever shower?), the reactions both good and bad, and for more practical things: tips on care, styling and fun things to do with our dreads... AS well as to provide help, instruction, and support to our newly dreaded, or soon to be dreaded sisters...

Have dreads for Religious reasons? Welcome! Have Dreads for fashion reasons? Welcome! Have Dreads for Political purposes? Welcome! Have Dreads for shock value? Welcome! Have Dreads just for the fun of it? Welcome!

Everyone is welcome! You don't have to have dreadlocks currently, or have ever had them! You can just like, or be curious... or maybe have friends or family w/ them and have questions or concerns?

This group is also open to ALL RACES, RELIGIONS, SEXUAL PREFERENCES, ETC... While I am open to discussions about Dreads and any associated racial issues, COMPLETE IGNORANCE and/or INTOLERANCE is NOT WELCOME (I realize that is a bit of an oxymoron... but RACISM SUCKS and its not very enjoyable to be around)
