Chiming clocks

Anyone find it useful to have a clock that chimes on the hour and 1/2 hour? A timer is great but then I forget to set it and you know how it goes from there!

Never tried that, it would drive my husband crazy. Instead I use the calendar feature in my cell phone to schedule all my appts, playgroups, storytimes, mom meet-ups, exercise classes, even twice-daily reminders to take my pills. I set an alarm to give me time to get ready and get out the door on time. If we're going someplace that's 10 minutes or less from home I set my alarm for 30 minutes before we have to be there. If it's 15-20 minutes away I set a reminder for 45 minutes before. That way I have time to get my son and myself ready, make sure he has diapers/snacks/juice for the outing, and don't have an anxiety attack at every red light.

Oh, and another way to time half hours & hours is to play half-hour shows on the DVR. I'm always saying things like "I'll take out the trash when Dinosaur Train is over."
