Need Help, Advice, Tips-Relocating to Hickam in July!

Hi my name is Jasmine, we are relocating to Hickam Afb next month. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on moving. Also we have not even looked into housing. Does anyone know if good places to live off base? We want to live on base but I have heard the waitlist is long. Any info about base or the area. Ways to save money? I have a 1 and a half year old and one on the way. Anything would really help. Thanks!

There are several places to live off post.  My husband works on Hickam and we live in KoOlina.  It's on the west side of the island.  Absolutely love it.  There isn't really a place for kids to play, but we like going for walks to the lagoons and the abc market.  I would absolutely love to live on Hickam.  It's the nicest base on the island.  I would get on that wait list :)

Do your research on the areas you want to live. Traffic can be a pain!  Hickam has nice housing on base!  you can live in any military housing on the island!
