After months (maybe even years) of trying to get my one novel published I turned to ebook publishers about 5 months ago. With the economy being what it is I thought I'd try to have my novel published in this format.
Well as many of you know waiting and patience is the way of life for a writer.
Here's my dilemma-
I've sent out the novel to numerous epublishers (I'm still researching them) and I have had a contract offered to me for the novel from one of the publsihers. Great news, right? Not sure.
I have the novel at four more epublishers and am waiting to hear back from them too. Yes I sent simultaneous submissions- was that a no-no? Not sure. Done it before.
I'm not sure what to do with this contract. They are also interested in my second novel I sent as a multiple submission.
Please writing moms- help me!
Wish I could help but I went the self-publishing route(used Amazon's Create Space) so I can only offer tips on that route...
Best of Luck!
Don't feel like you have to sign the first contract that comes along. Please make sure you research to confirm legitimacy of any venue you are considering. After you have studied your options then make an informed decision. Good luck!

I wish I had something useful to add, but I would like to hear the outcome of this....what you decide to do, if other contracts come forward, what your research on this epublisher turns out.
In my humble opinion, I would say you should be permitted/expected to submit to multiple publishers. If you didn't, wouldn't it take forever to work your way through the list of perspective publishers while waiting to hear back from them?
BTW-Congratulations.

I selfpublished my book but because I need more help with marketing I am still trying to find a publisher myself. I never thought to bring a book out would be such a pain. Anyhow here is what I would do. First are you happy with what they offer you?? Did they give you a time frame to sign the contract?? If yes I would wait to the last moment to sign, if not then set yourself a time you are willing to wait. Maybe a month or so. If by then you have not heard of the others I would sign this contract. But you can't let them wait forever or they will pull their offer back and you may have nothing left. Hope that helped a little and I wish you all the best. -Willow
I was published by an independent press.
One of my writer friends has a lawyer friend and she reviewed my contract for me. She offered a few suggestions on changes. My publisher agreed to just about all the changes.
Everything went smoothly.
I don't know much about e-publishing except that I had a few articles and short stories published in e-zines.
Some of my writer friends are published with this romance e-publisher: http://thewildrosepress.com/ and they are happy with that press.
