You've forgotten her voice
Her gentle embrace
Her cute rosy cheeks
On her round little face
Her dimples when she smiles
Her cries when she aches
Her need for your love
And the faces she makes
The sound of her laugh
The smell of her hair
Her overall presence
You've forgotten she's there
She used to be your trophy
Your love your pride and joy
Now shes something you've forgotten
Like a lost or broken toy
She yearns for you to be there
Each and every day
For you to be the one to hold her
In that special caring way
She askes me "Where's my daddy?"
And my eyes well up with tears
As I look down at my little girl
So wise for just two years
She knew what it was to love you
She knows now what its like to feel pain
She keeps searching for her daddy
And she's calling out your name
She knew how it felt to hug you
She knew how proud you once were
When your heart, your time and attention
Had all belonged to her
She remembers what you took for granted
She holds the memories dear
Of a father who has forgotten
What its like to hold her near
