Congratulations to our Mommy of the Week, ceemuhreeashbee!

To our special mother, feel free to answer as much or as little as you wish. (Come on, you know you want to write a novel, so here is your chance!)

If there are any questions that you feel uncomfortable answering just leave those blank. This activity is meant to be fun for everyone and will hopefully bring our group closer as writers and friends.

Everyone is welcome to ask questions, whether writing related or life in general questions.

Here are some to get us started!

What is your name?

Were you born with the "write stuff" or did you acquire it?

What is your earliest memory of being a writer? What did you write?

Are you drawn to a certain type of writing?

What inspires you?

Do you have a mentor or an author that has influenced you?

Where and what do you use to write?

What would be your ultimate dream come true as a writer?

What are you working on now?

What is your name? Cassandra, but I go by Cassie :)

Were you born with the "write stuff" or did you acquire it? I don't really know. I won a trip to the Oregon Writing Festival when I was in 3rd grade, and kind of wondered "Well, why?" lol. Then I wrote a story in Junior High that my English teacher just loved and read to all her classes. She made me feel really good about my writing and named me the Most Creative Writer at my 8th grade graduation. In high school I really slacked off in school.. I wrote a lot of poetry, but just for myself.

What is your earliest memory of being a writer? What did you write? Ha, that 3rd grade 'incident'. I wrote a story about friends wanting to do something but not having everything they needed, and making the best of what they had.

Are you drawn to a certain type of writing? Just anything that flows. If it doesn't flow from the beginning, I'm lost.

What inspires you? The beach. Everytime we go to MIL's I get the urge to write, so I always take my lap top :)

Do you have a mentor or an author that has influenced you? I'm amazed by writers like JK Rowling and SM who wrote things that captured so many people. I don't feel like I write similarly to them though, I think I have a little "Sarah Dessen" in me, but mostly I try really hard to be different. I don't want people to read my stuff and think "Oh that reminds me of this and this and this.."

Where and what do you use to write? I write on my lap top because it's all mine (technically for school) and I can take it anywhere to write on.

What would be your ultimate dream come true as a writer? To write a book that that touches lots of people.. but honestly, if I could do it without people actually knowing who I was I would. I want this really badly, so I will be looking for CC on it, but I hate criticism and I hate recognition (I know I know, I'm weird).

What are you working on now? I'm working on a novel about a girl in limbo and her 'spirit guide' (for lack of a better term right now).

Do you have a harder time with writer's block or with having an over abundance of inspiration?

Do you have a guilty pleasure?

If your life was in book form what would the title be? What would be on the book cover for a synopsis? What type of book would it be?

What five words describe you best?

Do you have any pets?

If you were a fruit what would you be and why?

What do you do for "me" time?

If you could only read one book, other than the bible, for the rest of your life what would it be?

Who is your best friend and why?

What superpower would you like to have and why?

If you could invite three famous people to dinner (living or dead) who would they be and why?

Do you have a harder time with writer's block or with having an over abundance of inspiration? Writer's block, for sure. It's not necessarily that I am unable to come up with words, it's that I just get to a point where I go "This isn't good enough" and I give up for the time being lol

Do you have a guilty pleasure? Umm, many? hehe.. I love food- I think that's the big one :D

If your life was in book form what would the title be? What would be on the book cover for a synopsis? What type of book would it be? "Why Would She Do That?" haha- it would probably be a dramatic comedy- and for the front I think some sort of black and white busy pattern.

What five words describe you best? Talkative, Helpful, Spastic, Random (out loud, anyway).. and I just asked my best friend to describe me in 5 words because I was stuck and she said: nice, caring, a great friend, quick with comebacks, often tries to see both sides of a situation, strong willed, and LOVES to win.. haha- I know that's more than 5 but hey, it's my story, right? ;)

Do you have any pets? I do! Roxie my mutt, Daphne my black weiner, & Bridget (or BeeGee as she's more commonly known in our house) my kitten.

If you were a fruit what would you be and why?
Can I be a nut? lol-- um fruit.. I'd say a berry & fruit salad, busy and confusing, but ultimately sweet.

What do you do for "me" time? ..Cafemom.. lol

If you could only read one book, other than the bible, for the rest of your life what would it be? Either Half-Blood Prince, to have an escape, or She Said Yes to remind me of the importance of faith... though I think I would rather give up tv than books :)

Who is your best friend and why? I have three, my husband because I can tell him absolutely everything and I know he won't judge me. Lindsay (the describing girl lol) because of the type of person she is- she is going to be an amazing wife and mother some day and she loves hanging out with us as a family (I consider her my sister more than anything). And Opal who I was best friend's with for a lot of my childhood is easy to talk to, fun to hang out with and is just always here for me.

What superpower would you like to have and why? I would love to be able to read people's minds.. only because I'm nosey though LOL

If you could invite three famous people to dinner (living or dead) who would they be and why? Robin Williams- because I think he's hilarious :),  Tyra Banks- because I think she's a good inspiration to girls and women, & (I know I know, not famous) my uncle who passed away when he was 19, I would have loved to meet him.

What was your first job? Were you good at it? Did you love it?

What did you want to be when you grew up?

How did you and your husband meet?

If you could change one thing about your personality what would it be?

What was your first job? Were you good at it? Did you love it? haha, I was a Sandwich Artist.. Subway :P I actually became really good at it and I didn't hate it. But it sucks now when I go in because I got really particular with how my made my sandwiches so I'm just obnoxious when I order :)

What did you want to be when you grew up? I've always wanted to be some form of a writer. When I was in 5th grade I thought it would just be this shiz if I could move to New York and be a journalist. As I got older if I ever did think about it, I figured I could write novels.

How did you and your husband meet? The teacher sat him across from me in 6th grade :) We didn't become friends until high school, after he moved away- but I found out he basically had a massive crush on me all through junior high:)

If you could change one thing about your personality what would it be? I never know the right thing to say, I open my mouth before thinking and sometimes offend people (Ex. 'A'- at Thanksgiving, which my dad's new girlfriend basically made everything from scratch, DH had to leave in the middle to go home and get his allergy meds. When she asked where he went I said "To get his allergy meds, he's allergic to the preservatives in certain foods".. I didn't think it was bad, but DH later told me I basically insulted her by insinuating she didn't cook it all from scratch, that she went the easy route... crap.. lol)

Thanks for the questions :) I enjoy talking about myself of course lol, but it reminded me that I need to get my ass back in here and try to bust out some more words:)

  • What was your favorite childhood toy? When I was super young this orange tub that was supposed to hold my toys, but I thought it was much cooler that it could hold me.. hehe

If you could take a trip to any place in the world, where would you go? Ireland

If you had to live in another country which one would you choose? I don't know, Canada? lol Maybe England or Ireland :)

What would you rather do, give a speech in front of 200 people or bungee jump? Speech! Speech!

If you could only eat one food, and nothing else, for three days in a row, what would it be? Mmm, homemade mac & cheese.. breakfast lunch and dinner :D

What was your favorite grade in school and why? Describe the preschool you, elementary school you, middle school you and high school you. I think 7th grade was my best year. Preschool I went to the local head start, I had really sweet teachers, but that's about all I remember. Elementary school I was stuck in a class with a teacher who showed us a movie a week, it pissed my parents off so they transferred me to the other elementary school, where they discovered I had fallen behind because of all the movie watching. I don't really remember what I was like, I just know I was a decently smart kid before the 'incident' haha, and was still not to shabby in school after I caught up.

  • Middle school me was a wreck, I thought I was fat, whined a lot, my friends really put up with a lot from me those two years. I became super depressed in 8th grade after one of my best friends (the boy I had a HUGE crush on the whole year before) passed away after a dirt bike wreck. High school me was a slacker the first two years, still depressed.. and then my parents divorced and I moved to a town about 20 minutes away and got to start over. It ultimately was a good change for me, I got my grades back up and rocked my senior year, became a varsity cheerleader and graduated half a semester early.

What are your three favorite movies of all time? My Girl, Remember the Titans, & Mona Lisa Smile.

What's the one thing you'd like to be remembered for? How much I care about people in general.

What is your dream job? SAHM and writer novels in my spare time.

If you had more time, what hobby would you like to pursue? Scrapbooking and back to dancing.

Would you rather be in the spotlight or behind the scenes? In the literal sense, I have been in a couple plays in school and it's so much fun to get on stage. But like (example), as a coach, I love being the person to teach the girls everything, and then send them out to perform it.

  • If you could have anything for dinner in the world, what would you have? Some prepared by Paula Dean :D

  •  What is your favorite place in the whole wide world and why? Either my home, or the cove in Seaside, OR- I like to be comfortable, and the cove is such a beautiful place to just sit and watch the waves crash.

What is your favorite smell in the whole wide world and why? Things baking- I know this sounds weird, but it helps me feel accomplished and like I am doing at least something close to my domestic duties haha.

Lots of people eat "weird" things. What is the one kind of food that you know you will never even try once? What is the most unusual food you have ever tried? It's not wierd, I just won't eat anything that has peppers, onions, or mustard on it. The weirdest thing I've ever eaten (which really isn't even that weird) is sushi.. seaweed, california rolls, and tuna I think.

What is the best present you've ever received from someone? My ring from my husband in high school, or the car my dad bought us about two years ago.

What is the one thing you think they should invent to make your life easier or more enjoyable? A robot that does all the housework. My life would be glorious lol.

If you were allowed to go anywhere for your next vacation, where would you go and what would you do there? Ireland, see what more I can learn about my heritage, and just explore it's beauty :)

What is your most precious treasure/sentimental item that you own and why? Besides my family, which I consider gifts from God :), anything I have from my grandma that passed away last year.

When are you (or have been) most afraid?  Everytime my DH goes out of town without me.. I have an anxiety problem and I just worry about him the whole time.

What has been the happiest day of your life? The day DD was born.. I got a healthy, beautiful baby girl- AND I lost like 20-30 pounds.. awesome, right?

If you could change one thing in the world what would you change? All families would have enough money for the things they need. Parents wouldn't have to worry about feeding their kids or making their house payment.

What is the most important thing in your life? (Materialistically and emotionally) My home and my family.

What is the one thing you couldn't live without? My family.

What cartoon character would you most like to be? Someone from the Jetsons hehe

What is the hardest thing about being 21 years old? Nothing, I finally feel like an adult when I tell people my age lol.

What is the best thing about being 21 years old? That I can order something to drink with dinner :)

Describe your perfect day. We recently took a trip to Maryland and had it:) We played on the beach and in the ocean, walked the boardwalk and went into all the little shops and had lunch at this amazing Irish Pub while sitting on their ocean view deck. Then of course we had a crab feed that evening :) Honestly, that's what I would say even if I hadn't had the day and it makes me smile to think about that day.. it was a great one :D
