I was tested for lupus on 1-12 and got my results yesterday. My Dr told me it came back as a 10% chance of me having it and is referring me to a specialist. I know y'all aren't drs but figured y'all might be.able to help with about how big of a chance, so far, I have of actually having lupus. I had an uncle who died from systemic lupus before I as born and its starting to scare me.

Testing for Lupus can be really confusing and take a long time for a complete answer.  It can take years for a sure answer and often when you get a positive test the next one will be negative.  Don't be frightened, there are a lot of treatments/information now that they didn't have 20 years ago and the mortality rate has gone way down.

1 mom liked this

I cant believe he gave you a percentage? there is no exact number to say you may have it, he needs to not only do an ANA test but a series of blood work to see if you have certain markers and even that is not a DEFINITE unfortunately there is no deinfite in diagnosing lupus thats the suckiest part! Hang in there and good luck!

Thank you guys, she's sending me to a specialist to do more testing, this whole process is just so confusing and time consuming.
