Hey everyone! My name is Lauren, I'm 23 and new to Florida...me, my husband and our 1 year old daughter will be relocating to ft myers from California in about 2 weeks. My husband just finished 4 years in the Marines and we are starting fresh in a new place! Would love to meet other moms and get advice about the area :)

Hi Lauren. Welcome to Florida. Do you know where you will be living yet? I'm older but like you I also have a one year old. i think no one ever posts on this group. Feel free to message me anytime. My cousin's husband is in the navy. They are living in Tampa but being relocated to Rhode Island. Sad. I live in Ft myers. Let me know if you have any queations I can answer. Are you in Ft Myers yet? If so, I would like to welcome you to Sunny FL. Congrats on his 4 yrs! Not easy I'm sure. My brother too is a Marine and is currently stationed in Afghanistan.  He is scheduled to return in Feb.  If you are interested I am having a Avon / PartyLite House Party on 10/1 from 12 to 3pm. Thanks to you both! We will be arriving in ft myers around October 10th. We have been trying to narown down apartments and I can't figure it out!! I've been looking at sail harbor, heritage pointe, reflections (?) and some others in that area....my dad lives in Catalina isles right off winkler rd by summerlin so we want to stay close so he can help take care of my daughter until we get everything set up with day care and all that. Do you have any suggestions? Or know any places I should stay away from?

Hi! I have lived here in Ft. Myers for 3 years now, my hubby and I have a 3 1/2 yr old boy and a 10 month old daughter. We are Chiropractors in the area and love to meet new younger couples! As for living, I do not believe Reflections is close to your dad, nor do I think you'd like living there, if it's the place I think it is. Once you get here, message me and we can meet for coffee and I can show you around or we can get the families together for dinner. You'll love it, a lot to do and LOTS of friendly families!

Are you thinking of the promenade at reflection lakes? That's the one I have been looking into. I had looked into sail harbour near health park but I heard they havena major problem with Chinese drywall? Ugh it was so much easier living on a military base!! I am exhausted from trying to plan this move. Thanks for the advice!
