Yea Angela, we did those too for a while.... but man, I disn't really like the intrusiveness of video, and from what I heard,  others didn't either so we just do the typical text blogs now.

I'll stick with text, but do want to get better with the HTML part....  :-0

Me too!  I'm over 40 so I have not kept up on technology.  Funny....I used to sell the latest & greatest gadgets in the world!  Seriously!  With companies like IBM, Worldcom (now gone of course) & AT&T!!! 

Now, I'm clueless....but only for a short time, eh?  ;-)

I blog to boost sales for my online store at eBay. I sell hard to find and out of print books for children and adults (and a few other things). The tips I have for successful blogging are;

• Post regularly- the more you post, the better your search engine ranking is.
• Blogging is not all about making a sale or a sales pitch, to keep long term readers, lontg term customers your posts should be value added- which means you are giving them valuable information, not just a pitch. On my website Oneofakindwis.com I review books, right now mainly children's book because I love them, but I am trying to outsource some reviews on grown up books.
• Blogging is not just writing posts, half of the work is marketing and networking. There are millions of blogs out there, internet users aren't going to just stumble upon your blog without some work.
• Don't give up, blogging is hard work, there is writer's block to overcome and at first the rewards are small.
• If you keep up with your old posts, become a gold mine of information and make it easier for people to find your blog

By the way Melissa- do you sell your mineral makeup on eBay. I have recently thought about changing my makeup to minerals, and looked up bareessentuals (spelling) on there and was surprised by all the different mineral makeups that were being sold on eBay... I haven't made the switch yet, because it was kind of overwhelming, but something to think about. Several of the sellers are powersellers...

I blog on active rain. Its a site for Realtors, Mortgage Brokers, etc. I blog on expeiences, fun topics, advice on buying or selling. Or just thoughts. Any thing that will get the reader to read and to come back for more.
