3."Reuben,you are my firstborn,my might, the first sign of my strength, excelling in honor, excelling in power.
4.Turbulent as the waters, you will no longer excel, for you went up onto your father's bed, onto my couch and defiled it.
5."Simeon and Levi are brothers-their swords "are weapons of violence.
6.Let me not enter their council, let me not join their assembly, for they have killed men in their anger and hamstrung oxen as they pleased.
7.Cursed be their anger,so fierce, and their fury,so cruel! I will scatter them in Jacob and disperse them in Israel.
8."Judah,"your brothers will praise you; your hands will be on the neck of your enemies; your father's sons will bow down to you.
9.You are a lion's cub,O Judah; you return from the prey,my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness-who dares to rouse him?
10.The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs and the obedience of the nations is his.

There's alot going on in this chapter. So I'm going to ask 2 questions.
1.Tell us what did you get out of this chapter.
2. What do you think about these blessing and what do you know about these blessing and why Jacob may have given them as he did.(I hope I made this question understandable to all)
Answer the question as you feel I asked, not in any order and feel free to answer in parts if you have to b/c it's a lot to cover if you go blessing to blessing amen.

JACOBS 12 SONS WERE THE ANCESTORS OF THE 12 TRIBES OF ISREAL, ALL ISREALITES CAME FROM THSE 12 MEN, ASIDE FROM THE 5 THAT DID NOT HAVE DESCENDANTS.
JACOB WAS BLESSING, PROPHESING OVER EACH OF HIS SONS, THEIR PAST MISTAKES HAD ALOT TO DO WITH WHAT JACOB SAID ABOUT THEIR FUTURE. EVERYTHING WE DO WILL DETERMINE OUR TOM ORROW IN SOME WAY. REUBEN THE OLDEST WAS A LITTLE WILD IN HIS YOUNGER DAYS AND THIS AFFECTED HIS INHERITANCE, HE SHOULD HAVE RECIEVED DOUBLE FOR THE FIRST BORN SHALL BE BLESSED, BUT SO IT WAS HE WASNT, FOR HE DISHONORED HIS FATHER.
JUDAH WAS THE ONE WHO SOLD JOESPH INTO SLAVERY AND TRIED TO DEFRAUD HIS DAUGHTER IN LAW, BUT NO MATTER JUDAH MADE A CHANGE IN CHAPTER 44:33 & GOD HAD ALREADY CHOOSEN JUDAH TO BE IN THE LINE OF KINGS AND GOD DOESNT CHANGE HIS MIND. FOR OUR VERY OWN JESUS COMES FROM THE LINE OF JUDAH!
AS FOR VERSE 10 SHILOH'S LITTERAL MEANING IS "SENT". (UNTIL THE COMING OF THE ONE TO WHOM IT BELONGS) POSSIBLY MEANING THE MESSIAH.
THEN THERE IS SOME TALK ABOUT TRUST, IT IS EASY TO TRUST IN YOURSELF WHEN YOU ARE STRONG OR TALENTED BUT WHEN YOUR WEAK YOU ONLY HAVE GOD.
VERSE 22 HAS ALSO BEEN KNOWN TO BE TRANSLATED AS JOESPH IS A FRUITFUL TREE/FRUITFUL TREE BESIDE A SPRING/ BRANCHES REACH OVER THE WALL, THE MEANING OF THE HEBREW IS REALLY UNCERTAIN.
23-34 TALK ABOUT TIMES GOD RESCUED JOESPH DRAWING JOESPH CLOSER TO GOD.
TIS THE BEST I CAN DO.

You did awesome Dina,I say your on a roll b/c you covered so much in so few days thank you so much,I see you will keep me on my toes(lol)
It's so good to have someone hungry for the word.It also keeps Priscilla and I accountable as well.

Gen.49:23,24
My footnote tell me that These are the verses that celebrate the times God rescued Joseph when his enemies attacked him.
So many times we go through struggles by ourselves, forgetting that God is able to help us fight our battles, whether they are against men with weapons or aganst spiritual forces. Joseph was able to draw closer to God as adversity mounted. To trust God to rescue you shows great faith.
Can you trust him when injury or persecution is directed at you? Such spiritual battles require team work between courageous faithful people and a mighty God.
