TIPS ON HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

Praise the Lord Sister's

We want to make your learning experience as easy and fun and understandable as we can.

Because of that I will be listing tips on how to study the bible.

1. Always start of with a prayer asking the Lord to give you  understanding of his word. Ask him to open your heart ,your mind and show you what he wants you to get out of the study.

Ask him to forgive you for your sins,so that you may go before the Holies of Holies. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. Then give him praise for doing it.

2.Identify the Context.

3.Observe the Obvious

4.Deal with the text objectively

5.Read with purpose.

One Step at a time,I don't mean to offend anyone when I say if you don't know what a word means, but only after looking it up and can't find.

God Bless

Thank you so much Sister Charlie.

I find that in this state of chemo brain that I have that I have difficulty studying and understanding some things,. it takes me longer to do a study because I have to take so much time to read, read, and re-read to understand it.

I have the book of Rick Warren's 12 study methods and am trying to learn the different ways but some are just so in depth that this chemo brain can't comprehend it. But God is working with me on it and helping me to figure out ways so that I can study and understand Him.

Thank you for posting this though this helps.

Ok since we have to identify the Context then we need to know the meaning of the word Context ,right!

Ok anyone want to give us the meaning of the word (CONTEXT)?

I'm note sure I'm replying in the correct place, but you asked what context would mean. I would think it would refer to the circumstances or situations around which the scripture was written. Maybe what happened previously in that person's life to make him write what was written.

Paul was writing about not eating things that would make someone else fall. That was happening at the time he wrote the letter, but also look back at his conversion experience....his vision about the unclean animals being put before him and him being told to eat.

Maybe I'm way off base, but that is what I think the context would mean when studying the scriptures.

Next step you have is Observe the Obvious....what do you mean here?

Hey I'm sorry, this really has nothing to do with our weekly study. That goes in the weekly study post, but what you did was give a great example.

This post is just here to help our sister's learn how to get more out of their bible study time instead of just reading it like a book. I hope I said that where it can be understood:)

Thank you for answering though, please let us know what you think about this weeks bible study in that post. Once agian I'm sorry for not making this post clear.

Ok I tell you what it means:The word CONTEXT means that which goes with the text.In general, then, context is the environment in which something dwells, the setting in which something exists or occures.

In the Bible study, context is the words, phrases and sentences surrounding a particular word, phrase ,or sentence.

The context gives meaning to those particular word phases or sentences so that you have and idea of what the author is saying.(this will expand to pharagraphs, chapters book and eventually the whole bible.

Ok now we must :Observe the Obvious

Tell me what you feel this means?

Thats a siggy it looks like Ronda made it and you can go the the SIC siggy group and they make wonderful Christian tags.

We also have a sister here who makes tags and will have a few guest also.

Every designer has a skill level,I can't design but I'm a siggy piggy lol.

Once you make a request you save them to your computer as pictures or whatever then open a photobucket account. upload them into it and it will keep the annimation going on it.

When you put them in your photobucket you can upload them into your signiture place here on cafemom and use them as siggies or just the ones that don't move you can download from where you saved them by clicking on the add picture box up top.

Or you can get the url from the photobucket account and put into the add a photo place and the annimation on the tag will be saved.

I know this sounds like a lot on that chemo brain(smile) but if I can do it anyone can.

Tell you what if your finding it to hard to do personal message me and I can set it all up for you then you can just change your password after I set it up.

Let me know, also Priscilla explains things so much better then I do,you can try personally messaging her and if she can explain it then I will still set it up for you if you want. Either way sister I'm here to help.

Oh sound like a good study book I hope that I can help you out there also.
