It may be a little too late for this one to try my way, but here it is anyway! :-) When my son was old enough to hold his bottle (around 6 or 7 months) we only gave him milk in a bottle and gave him everything else, like juice and water, (things he loved) in a sippy cup. Once he turned 13 months, we just stopped giving him the bottle and he never even cried for it. This way, he was used to the cup and it wasn't too much of a shock to him when the bottle disappeared. (We're did the same thing with nursing, just gave him a bottle when I went to work. Now we're doing it with potty training, first we bought the potty to let him see it and play with it and know its his, now every day for a little while we let him sit down on the potty without a diaper, even if he doesn't go, he kinda gets what it's there for.)
