by TwoBlueOnePink on Oct. 9, 2008 at 1:02 PMI have been taking my DD to the library for a couple years now. She jsut got her own library card this summer, she was so excited. For the first few months she was only allowed to read the books with me. But now she has a spot in her room just for her library books so they dont get mixed in with hers. I only let her get a couple each time we go. |

by nelopyma on Oct. 9, 2008 at 1:28 PMWe've been going to the library for a while. The 5 year old doesn't have a card herself yet (long story, but we don't go to our local library, but another one 15 miles away, and if she doesn't have a card through our local library, she can't check out stuff from any other library), but she gets a couple of books on my card every time I go. It's never been a problem. The library books all remain in the dining room, and she knows they have to go back there when she's done with them. **** Amy **** |

by Mimomof3boys on Oct. 9, 2008 at 9:41 PMAll three of my boys have been going to the library forever. We attend a story time at least once a week. They are allowed to each pick out two books each time. We keep our books in a bag by the back door. When we are done looking at our library books we put them back in the bag...those are the rules, no exceptions. My kids love the library and picking out thier own books encourage thier love for reading!

by MagickalMommy on Oct. 9, 2008 at 9:46 PMI have taken ds to the library for a really long time, we go every
week now and he always picks out a ton of books, they have a cubby for
their library books and he reads them and puts them back. I didnt think
"I have to teach him to be resposnisble with books" its just
become a habbit. we take care of all our books and library books just
have their own spot, and each week before we go back I go through the
reciept that lists all the books we got and we go through the pile and
make sure we have them all :)

by reddawn1975 on Oct. 11, 2008 at 12:16 PMI would love too but having a 1.5 year old I am scared that the books would get messed up. Thankfully we have lots of books! I look forward soon to going though. Jessica (33),Husband (38)

by NebraskaMomof2 on Oct. 11, 2008 at 10:42 PMI have been taking my son to the library since he was 2, although now that he is in kindergarten he can use the school library to check out books so we haven't been since the end of the summer reading program. I am planning on taking my 17 month old daughter to the storytimes once a week.

by mommymelissa711 on Oct. 12, 2008 at 5:35 PMWe've been going to the library for a long time. We go for storytime every week. I let the kids pick out a couple of books and a DVD. We have a big red bag where the books are kept. When the noise level in the house gets to be too much, I have them sit and look at their books. We love the library.
