2003 Babies
My son is turning 5 in one month, he's been in school for 6 weeks. He's a hugh momma boy (all 3 are really) but 2 days ago I became 'mom'. No more momma just mom. Thank you mom, what are we doing today mom! OMG I knew 5 meant no more toddler he' s a kid kid now but from 4 straight to 15 WTF! Any one else mom now? I feel ever unconnected now I lost my first little boy.

by CATinWI on Oct. 12, 2008 at 1:02 AMMy son, who will be 5 next week, just started calling me "MOM", about a month or two ago. It is so strange. The first time I heard him say it, it really made me pause. Before that I was Mumma. I had wanted him to call me Momma, but DH kept calling me Mumma(what he called me to our dog for 10 years), so Orion picked that habit up. So I guess Mom sounds better than mumma coming from a kid his age. He still calls his dad, "Daddy" most of the time, but does say Dad, now and then too. What is even funnier, is how when he says, "Mom", it is usually done in a very teenager sounding voice, and often comes out "Oh Mom"! LOL
