Summertime Fun

What is your favorite thing to do in the summer besides get a few moments to relax while the kids are on the slip and slide or out for ice cream with the grandparents?  What is your 2003 baby's favorite crafty thing to do?  Where are some fun places you have gone this summer?

My son love bottlecaps!  He gets them all the time from his grandpa, as they are harder and harder to come by unless you buy bottled pop/soda.  I found him a craft kit at Barnes and Noble that came with some caps and some glaze so he could put little figures in the caps and let them set up.  He looks at them all the time.

The grandparents have taken him (and his sister) to Darien Lake and Fantasy Island (both parks with rides around here) and he even went on his first water slide or 10!

Our little inflatable pool got a few holes in it so we had to deflate it and try to fix it this week, but he has run in the sprinkler and ran around and slid on the slip and slide.  He enjoys watering all the plants and the garden when I let him as he also likes to water his sister if he can, but she runs fast.

What fun things have you been up to this summer?  We are always looking for new ideas to have fun!

We like to walk. We go all over town but mostly to the park. Ds1 (8 years old) likes to ready and help me put puzzles together. He and his brothers went to my in laws for a week and then he went by himself to my sisters for a week.

He likes to play in the sprinkler with his two younger brothers and do most anything with them. He has learned to ride his bike so we have started to go on bike rides. (He learned about a two years ago but I had no way of riding with him and watching my two younger boys, but this year we got a trailer for the bike so now we have a lot of fun).

We have a nest of baby robins in a hanging plant on our front porch.  Second year in a row they nested there.  Every day we look at the babies and see how quickly they grow.  Kids are loving it !!  making me take pictures every day and once they have left the nest they want the pictures in their summer photo albums.
