My daughter is alil over weight. She doesn't eat junkfood at my house and eats fairly healthy. Plays soccer. Shes with her dad 2 days a week and I feel like he doesnt feed her like I do... he doesn't cook much and orders out a lot and I don't know what her snacking is like with him.
I don't know if that would be enough to keep her at this weight or not? I just don't want her to deal with being an overweight teenager/adult. When shes with me she has healthy snacks like yogurt, granola bars, fruit. And she always has a veg @ dinner.
She loves fruits and sala, raw /baby carrots and celery. So it's not like its hard to get her to eat healthy.
Just watch the portions, and find another activity, soccer is ok, but there can be alot of standing around as well. Try something like swimming, riding bikes after dinner, nature walks, something everyday, not just once or twice a week. Make it fun, so she doesnt know.
Something that dh and Ashton do every night after dinner in the spring, summer, and fall until it was cold, is go for a bike ride. When they couldn't go for a bike ride they would use the Wii Fit after dinner for at least an hour (depends if they went outside already).
I struggle with my daughter too, At 5 she was diagnosed as borderline anorexic. Finally, we got her to realize she can eat food and not be so crazy over whether her calorie count was more than her excercise took off that day, etc. Now, she eats like a HOG and refuses to get off the couch! She is about 15 pounds overweight for her height her doctor said! It's hard though because I don't want to push her back into being anorexic :(
