If you had problems with the first pregnancy what made you decide to have more?  I had problems with my first (and only) pregnancy, had to have a cerclage, on bed rest, carpel tunnel so bad I slept with ice packs for a month, gained 8 lbs in a week so they induced at 38 weeks, which isn't bad but the rest of it, the cerclage, bed rest, I just don't want to go through that again and the doc told me outright that I would.  Truth be told, I'm scared to do it again, how did you get past it all and decide to have more?

My 1st pregnancy was fine but with my second I was high risk.  I had a blood clot in my brain when my oldest was 10 months old. SO now whenever I am pregnant I have to give my self shots of blood thinners, have regular appointments with Maternal fetal medicine specialists, Level 2 unltrasounds monthly and towards the end weekly, Weekly blood tests through out the pregnancy, weekly NST for the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy and get induced at 38 1/2 weeks.  This is how it was for my now 10 month old and how it will be for any future children I may have.  If you want a baby enough then it is worth going through all the pain and whatnot because let me tell you Heprin shots in your stomach at 8 months pregnant HURT....I was so bruised up it looked like someone beat the crap out of me.  I want 4 children and I will gladly go through all that crap again just to have another baby  :)  But that is my personal choice.

My only complication was having gestational diabetes and doing insulin shots with my first son. He was born natural and with no drugs. My second son was born via c section and he was very LARGE (11 lbs 6 ozs) so that last month of carrying around a ten plus baby was hard. My third was 10 lbs 12 ozs and I had Gestational Diabetes from EIGHT weeks. By the end of the pregnacy I was on three insulin shots and being monitored at the docs twice a week.

Through all that though I love being prego and I can't wait to do it again. I so far have not been sick or had any complications.

I know a women who has had two kids, eight pregnancies. Her oldest was born a twin the twin did not make it. She then had five miscarriages. Gave birth to a little girl who passed away with in days. She procceeded to have another miscarriage and finaly had her second son, born healthy....if she can do it I know I can. She has been through so much and also had the carpal tunnel thing each time too.

Best of luck to you! Do what you can for you and your family!

I had morning sickness from hell, everything swelled so bad my doctor thought I had preeclampsia, she was a week overdue and I was in labor for 63 hrs before i had a c-section. That said, I just had a baby boy 7weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. Basically, I just got the "baby Itch" really really bad. When or if you get to wanting another one, it won't be quite as scary anymore.

I always knew I wanted more than one!  I'd love to have one more, but hubby says "NO!".  I was on bedrest at 28 weeks with #1 due to premature contractions.  I was extremely worried because I had already had 2 miscarriages (one at 12 weeks).  He ended up being 4 days late!  I gained a lot of weight with him, too and I had HORRIBLE sciatic pain!  It was almost debilitating!  My doctor assured me that the sciatica would be worse with #2 - but guess what - baby #2 was a breeze!!  No sciatica, no bedrest, I worked until 36 weeks, I didn't gain as much weight.  It was just great!  Good Luck!

Salam Alaykoum! With Sarah I was sick for 5 months then my feet swelled up so big I was stuck in bed and she was a premie nicu and all... I was never going to do that agin (famous last words of a fool) Omar is because condoms don't work all the time... No morning sickness, no swelling, I did dilat early but he was only 3 days early and a 1 hour 45 min labor no pushing he did it for me... All preg's are diffrent so just because it sucked the first time does not mean it will the next...

They are amazing and bring joy to my life every day. I wish I was born a millionaire because I would adopt more than my own 4.

befor I start ALL of my pregnancies where accidental and done on birth control.
My first pregancy was fine no problems except my asthema. I was also to tierd to function for the first 5 months of my pregnancy.
With my second, They took my Drivers License. I kept passing out and my heart rate was so slow. Durring delivery we foud out what the problem was. I was carring twins and in the secong or third moths one of them died. The remains of the baby my body used. However at delivery I had two placentas that had grown to gether.
With my third the only problem was that we were having a hard time keeping her in. My due date was for 23 Dec 05 . In august I had gone into labor and they knbew I won't go full turm . Well they put my in Complicated O.B I was seen offten to make sure that my cervix was opening anymore my contractions where monitered closely. well I made it to november to everyone's amazment 14 November 05 I woke at 4 am to find myself in actuall labor again. Sure enough they just let it go  and let me deliver. She was not in the NICU or in an incubator. Actually unless i told anyone that she was a preemie no one would know.
In the beginging on this year we found out yet again I was pregnate. well I whent to my fist three apts. On the third one they did a sonogram. I kne then somthing was not righ. Well my suspicions where confimed the baby was dead no heart beat. Well everything that could go wrong with a misscarage did. I was hospitalized for a week due to infection. With the second DNC we found out what happen. I yet again was carring twins. We learned my body can't handle twins. So I guess that leaves me with 4 pregnancies and and 6 kids total. I wouldn't change a thing. If I should get pregnate again I will demand a sonogram at my first Apt. To see how meny thier are and to see if everyhig is alright.

my 4yr old sons pregnancy was great! no morning sicknes. other than swelling and back pain at the end. it was awsome! BUT. my daughters pregnancy was a nightmare!!!! i was sick the whole 9  months! i started having contractions at 26 weeks. at the 12wk blood test something odd came up and i had to go to a specialist to get a intense ultrasound to make sure there was nothing wrong with the baby. praise God but all she had was a two vein cord instead of a three so they had to check on her size to make sure she was getting enough to thrive. now her birth was easy and fast so that i can not complain about! and i always wanted three, until her pregnancy! lol! yes so now my husband is getting a vasex so no more babies! not just the last rough pregnancy but we can provide more for out two kids if we dont  have anymore kids. if it happend than i would still be excited and happy and just think of it as Gods way of saying we need one more. but as for having a third on purpose? HELL NO! so i can understand your fears. plus you have a 4yr old to consider this time! i was supose to be on bed rest with my 2nd pregnancy. yeah, that was a joke! you have to do what is best for your family!
