how does one go about doing a cleanse? the bottle i bought from the store recommended drinking one bottle a day, but i imagine thats more for... upkeep, so to speak. so, should i chug as much as i can for a day? lol...
oh, and a random question, but since it contains a minute amount of alcohol, is it illegal to drive with an open bottle, since it still contains some (albeit not much) alcohol?

Kombucha has as much alcohol as a non-alcoholic beer (which is still a trace amount) I read if you drank a whole gallon it would be equal to about a 1/2 a beer. So I am sure the officer is not even going to notice. =)
Now as for cleansing I am not sure you would want to drink too much but I read 4oz. every meal was suggested but a new drinker should work up to it. Even if they have to start at an ounce a meal.
To cleanse just make sure you drink plenty of water to help clear the toxins out of your system that the tea is helping to expel.
I do a fruit and veggie fast every 2 weeks for 2 days and am planning on adding the kombucha to that as well.

Its simple eat only Fruits and veggies.
(good veggies not starchy ones like potatos, squash, or corn but nice green ones)
I like to get a couple bottles of Naked fruit juice (found in the refrigerated produce section) and drink them as I would a meal they are really thick and the bottle boasts a lb. of fruit per bottle the berry one is one of my faves.
Day 1 eat nothing but fruits and a wide variety. Strawberries, black and blueberries, fresh pineapple, oranges, apples well you get the pic. To drink? Naked juice, fresh juiced fruits and lots of water.
I also take a multi, B12, and a Guarana daily for energy.
Day 2
Start the day off with your wide selection of veggies but for dinner have some nice green veggies trust me your about ready for them by the time dinner comes. I usually saute up some zuchinni and onion with lemon pepper, any grilled veggies, fat portabellas on the grill are wonderful, carrots, alvacados with a little salt, i cook for my family but not for myself during the 2 days, my plate is usually my fruit bowl =)
Now if you wanted to do this more often or longer you could or even slowly taper off it by adding grilled fish Mahi Mahi being one of my faves or chicken.
But still try to cut back on the red meats starchy veggies and bad carbs as much as you can.
Something about Day 1 just gives me a ton of energy, I have done this breastfeeding and pregnant, because you are still keeping calories up you are only helping to flush your system. You are also not depriving your body of anything I have fasted as long as 4 days.
