Fitness Focus 3/27/09 (this is the day)
Was reading Reader's Digest and found out from an ad that April 8th is National Start! Walking Day.
They state that for every hour of regular, vigorous exercise you could gain two hours of life expectancy.
It is an ad from the American Heart Association. They give a website that is chock full of awesome information and even has a link you can use to find someone to walk with in your area!

What are you waiting for!

Nacher~~ I love this! One can never have too many resources for how to track their fitness... I hope you don't mind that I added another link that was on the page...
Just an aside: I walked about 4 hours earlier this week, and it felt SO GOOD to be out in the sunshine.. Dare I say I felt like I did before I had kids; a little carefree, and a lot young!!! (Joy was added by stopping to eat a giant orange, guzzle some water and eat a couple strawberries....:))
MyStart! Online Tracker is one of these tools. It’s a great way for you to track your employees' fitness progress.
The Start! Walking Program encourages employers to set up walking routes that can motivate employees to walk around the office. National Start! Walking Day, April 8, 2009, is our special day that calls on all employees to become more active.
And keep your employees informed year-round with healthy tips from our quarterly Start! at Work newsletter. Use our information in your own company newsletters.
This is great information! Walking seems like such a basic, and is a great fitness opportunity. I try to add steps into my daily routine to boost this. I am back into my walking routine, now daily and am so excited about it! I walk each day outdoors, and get my family involved for an added bonus.
