7 week old baby that needs our prayers!

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A seven-week-old baby is recovering from what detectives say is severe abuse. The baby's parents are expected in court later this week.

The father, Todd Spears, was supposed to be in court Wednesday morning but jail officials confirm he could not appear because he was injured during a fight with another inmate.

Police say Spears and his girlfriend Simone Hamilton, both 19 years old, are in jail after their seven-week-old baby, Jaden, suffered multiple injuries. Police say the injuries include broken legs, broken feet, a broken arm and bleeding in the eyes.

Detectives say Hamilton took the baby to a northwest side clinic Monday for what she called a bruise. The doctor called police who then arrested Hamilton and Spears.

Detectives say Spears admitted to mishandling the baby.

"He's made some comments about squeezing parts of the baby and maybe he had shaken it a little bit but that's what he's saying," said Lt. Jeff Duhamell of the IMPD.

Simone Hamilton, the baby's mother, is a certified nurse aide with an active license to practice. She told police she was aware of some of the abuse.

Hamilton is facing a neglect charge.

The father Todd Spears is facing a preliminary battery charge. Both are expected back in court later this week.

I heard about this poor little one on my local news tonight. The reportes were told that some of his broken bones were already healing, meaning that this baby had been abuised almost it's entire 7 weeks of life...So lets all pray for baby Jaden! He needs all the extra prayers he can get

I'm praying 4 that baby.how could some1 do that-some people r just so sick in the head.it angers me.it seems like the abuse on children is getting worse.it makes me so sad.that poor baby.

OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!?!? I really hope this baby is going to be OK and thank GOD this baby got help before it was too late :-( I dont know how much more child abuse stories i can deal with....i literally lose sleep thinking about them and how much i wish i could help. Makes me so happy that my babies are born to me...because that is 2 precious innocent lives i can GUARENTEE will never ever have to suffer. All we as parents can do is hold our children close and give them the best lives possible :-( Just wish i could do more ya know :-(

broken bones... at 7 weeks?! they must've really done a number on him... considering the fact that at that age baby's bones are almost impossible to break because they are still so soft.... god... some people make me sick... I have 3 girls, 6, 3, and 7 months... and they whine, and talk back, and cry alot.... but never in a million years would I ever even think of doing something like that... I don't even spank my girls... I just put the fear of god into them... lol (not really) but they know when I mean business... and they HATE time out...that poor baby.... I wish I could just have them all brought to my house.... I'd take care of them all.....

The child ended up having broken ribs, legs, feet, a torn upper lip and a broken arm and an eye hemorrhaging.  Its just so sad that so many of our babies are being abused like this.  Its heart breaking to no end.  The doctors did say in another news article that early exams and reports show no brain damage, thank god, but he will have a fight for his life.  Whats horrible about this whole thing is his mother is a CNA and new there was abuse going on and did nothing for her 7wk old baby.  That freaking baffles the hell out of me!!! OMG if my hubby laid a hand on my daughter id go F'n ballistic on him.  Your suppose to be their to protect your child not hurt them!!!!
