Hi! I am so glad to find some like-minded mamas on this site :) Thank you all for joining and I look forward to learning about the ways we raise our kids to respect the earth and the seasons and themselves!
I was raised finding fairies in the forest, putting aloe on my burns, celebrating the change of seasons, drinking chamomile tea for my tummy aches, and finding blessings when I need them. I led a more openly magical adolescence and now a subtle natural parenting, personally spiritual adulthood. Although as my baby grows, I yearn to teach him more about the earth and her magical ways, the universe, gods and goddesses, spirits in the trees, the power of the elements, etc....

I haven't posted rules, since I try not to be to strict, ignorant, etc., but I will not tolerate any negative comments belittling or bashing of others (not that I expect them with our members, but you never know who may choose to join...)

Please introduce yourself upon joining the group, tell us what you feel comfortable with regarding your background, children, etc.

  • Hi!  I'm Kim- I'm a Pagan and my husband is a self-proclaimed Agnostic (although his entire family is Catholic...)  My in-laws are suspicious of me, but they don't know that I'm Pagan.

I'm not sure yet, but I think my son may be psychic!

~Anyway, I'm hoping to meet moms who believe in magic~

I used to work with a nutritionist at Vitamin Cottage, so i've learned a lot about natural remedies and vitamins and nutrition- so that's my contribution to society

  • Hi Kim and welcome to Circle Round!

My MIL would freak- but I am who I am around her, I just tend to lean more towards the natural and spiritual side of it openly (you know, like celebrating the 'winter solstice' instead of 'Yule'-) but that may change as my lil one gets older...
My mom used to practice speaking with me psychicly (is that a word?) when I was little and her mom did the same with her kids!  I'd just continue to practice with your son and help him heighten his mind's abilities.
Your 'believe in magic' line reminded me of Heather's blinkie.. "Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"

    Baby blessings,

  • Hi, my name is Jessica.  I'm 22, I have a daughter named Isabel, she's 13 months old.  I'm married and have been for 4 years.  I was Pagan back in High School and kind of went away for a few years, but I'm back now!  I missed it, and didn't like the hypocracy of the path I was following.  But I guess everything happens for a reason, and that reason was so that I would realise I wanted to be a mom and have my beautiful daughter.

  • Hi!

My name is Jaspenelle and my husband and I could be considered Pagan. I am currently pregnant with our first child and really loving it. I know I want to do something special to appreciate the transitional phase in my life but I am still in the musing stage. I do know I will probably be having a home birth with a midwife, or perhaps in one of the local birthing houses (where I take my Bradley classes.) It feels so natural for me to be at this stage in my life...

Otherwise, I am a candle maker, I run a local spiritual group and love spending as much time out in nature with my husband as possible. :-)

  • Hi, well I guess I should start out that I am a mother of one. A very cute little Tomas whom is loved and kissed on daily... hourly... ok every minute. I have been practicing for quiet some time and have a few groups on here. I am not exactly wiccan but I would love to see some ways to raise my baby pagan. And since I might be pregnant again lol I will really need the help. Other than that I tend to be always stuck in a book (hence why I own the Pagan Book Club) and now I am looking into Yoga, belly dancing, and other fun ideas.

  • Hi and welcome Jessica- I totally know that feeling. I miss my circle from high school and sometimes my openness. I’m glad you joined us!

Jaspenelle, hello and welcome to Circle Round.  Congratulations! I hope we can help on your developing parenting path of nature and magic as your little one grows within you.

Hi Momma Halo- Oh, the Pagan Book Club, I’m a member of that
J I love reading! We’re open to any natural, earth focused, magical path, so you do not have to consider yourself Pagan. I’m raising my son with the knowledge and respect of many traditions so he can make the choices he feels is right as he gets older. We are glad you joined!

Man, all this at once, I feel like I'm drawing a circle - hail and welcome, guardians on the north..... :)  **smiles**

  • Hello, and thanks for letting me join you!  My name is Melissa, I'm 31 and am SAHM to my four year old daughter Kaitlyn Victoria.  Kaitlyn has special needs, and times can be tough, but at the same time she's such a joy!  I've been married for almost 7 years and live in DE.  I just started college again to become a Veternary Technician, I'm a HUGE animal lover.

Anyway, I've been studying Wicca for the past year, so you could definitely say that I'm still a 'brand new pagan.'  My husband supports me with whatever spiritual path I choose, especially when it's such a positive one.  I was raised Christian, my family would not like it very much at all if they knew that I'm not a practicing one anymore, so I'm obviously still in the 'broom closet.'  I would like to teach my daughter about my spiritual beliefs, but at the same time, I want her to know that she can choose her own spiritual path in life.

I look forward to chatting with everyone!

    Blessed Be,
    Melissa

  • Welcome Melissa! We're happy to have you. 'Broom closet' cute! I hope this group becomes a good support for you as you begin this path- follow your heart. I have met so many people that have said 'hey, I always believed that'- or have 'felt that way' but didn't know there was a religion behind it.
