Anyne know about Celtic Birth Charms?
I was thinking of getting one for my son.. initially I thought it would be nice to have something symbolic yet more subtle than a pentagram... but as fate has it, his symbol turns out to actually BE the pentagram :)
As a May 17th baby, I seem to be on the dragon/fairy cusp- pretty amazing since they're my 2 favorite things :)
anyway, I found this and wanted to share....

Those are interesting...I have a Salmon one myself I picked up at a Ren Faire..that was before I learned that the whole Celtic Tree Month stuff was basically made up by Robert Graves, the author.
From what I have read by folks who can actually document their research, it would seem that the Celts pretty much chose their own designations according to their own gifts, be it music or hunting or healing and such. I would think you're free to choose your own symbol for him..at least till he is old enough to choose his own. :)
I looked up a history of the pentacle/pentagram cus I was wondering ho it got linked to Celts since the Celtic elements are Sky,Sea,Land not the 5 of Greek origin. I found this fascinating site:

Sorry, it didn't post as a link. But copy and paste and check it out. Seems the symbol has been used by many peoples (Celts not mentioned in this article) including being the preferred symbol of the early Christians before the cross or the crucifix came in fashion. Hee hee, just wait till I wear one to church! LOL! Can't wait till someone has the nerve to ask! Lol..I am naughty!
(Cat and Autumn Goldmoon in Elvish)....Just call me a "Cottage Cleric!" ;)
