I took a bath with my 5 month old boy tonight. I felt silly at first being naked with a baby boy, but he doesn't know anything or grab at things yet....I thought it was cute.
Has anyone else done this? and when will the baby be too old to bath with? I heard of showering and the baby sitting in the tub....any stories to share,Ladies?
I haven't taken a bath with my daughter but I did have a few showers with her when at a friends house to wash off after being at the beach. After a few times she is confident to stand in the shower herself. She was about 18 months. As for being in the bath tub with you, I imagine that once they start wiggling it might become dangerous.

I have always bathed with my babies... I hate those little plastic tubs for them, so I had put my kids on my belly in the big tub untl they were old enough to sit up and play alone- then my son totally loved to have the bath to himself to splash and 'swim' !! It's a magical experience- I am planning on having my baby due in June in water and my son will be there. He's only 2 but until he gets uncomfortable with me seeing him, it is okay for him to see me.
When I take a shower I usually have my 4 y.o. daughter jump in with me...I wash her hair and then let her out....and I still get in the bathtub with Nova and she is a year.
Personally I would think Pagan moms wouldnt be to uncomfortable with this (Granted everyone has a different comfort level) since we tend to go skyclad and dont teach about shame when it comes to our bodies....

My husband & I both still shower & bathe with our DD (she is 15 mo) Whoever is bathing her is going to get soaked anyway, so why not. When DD gets a bit older I am sure that Dh will want wear trunks or something with her, but I don't see it as a big deal. We are a close family & if there is anywhere in the world to feel comfortable with your body it's at home with your family. I think it is a wonderful bonding experience, just like sharing sleep is very intimate & loving so is sharing a bath!
dd is 2 and some change, we nearly always bathe together. we run the shower and wash then I get out and fill the tub so she can play. We're not fans of the plastic "baby tubs" either, so we've always been in the tub with her.
I think the only issue my dh has had was when he was "grabbed like a bell" I could barely stop laughing long enough to be appropriately supportive of his pain. He had let out a howl and then explained to our dd that daddy's penis is "no touching". Now she'll remind me that he's "no touching" as well. lol.
