WOW - I really don't want to be too long winded here..... so I will be a little general:

- You don't have to have to stop at just one  or you can section off 1 large one :(example: rituals, herbs, Sabbats & Esbats, divination, symbols, spells, crafts, tarot, stones, recipes )  the possibilities are endless.

- The pages can be traditional parchment or not - it's YOUR book so fill it with things you love

- Personalize the cover however you like.  Personally, I like woven dried herbs and flowers from my garden.  If I was more talented, I would carve some symbols into 2 pieces of wood and bind the pages in between - but I'm not.

- Whatever you decide, think about how it will be included on the altar and will you be able to read it during a ritual or manuever around it ?

- Many recommend a cleansing while others feel a Book Blessing with a dedication page is sufficient - and still others feel none of those are necessary - it's all personal choice.

Just have fun with it !!

And remember your Book is a guide for you during rituals - you don't have to be serious and worry if you forget a word....it's mostly about your intent  (and the Goddesss and God have a great sense of humor !!)

beautiful reply! Love the pics

It's essentially your notes, spells, poems, etc.... I started mine in highschool and it has grown with me... It's a running notebook of sorts but also a reference guide.

I actually keep two.  I have a fancy looking notebook with a pentacle that I handwrite in.  I keep my favorite things like the Charge of the Goddess, quotations from various books, spells I've written, etc.  I have a 3 ring binder with several seperated sections where I keep more reference style material such as correspondences.  This way the stuff is really easy to find and stays in a great order since I can add pages in any order I like!

Amber!  A very artsy-craftsy kinda stay at home mommy!  Latch hook, hand embroidery, cross-stitch, paper crafting, and more.
