This is so nice! I have often thought that when I'm done having kids I would become a lactation consultant. Breastfeeding is the best thing that you can do for your baby, and I feel new mothers in the US are not supported enough.
Oh, I almost forgot, My name is Valerie I have two boys 4 and 15 mo. I bf my oldest till 2 1/2 and found out I was pregnant with number 2. I live in Ohio, and I am blessed to be a stay at home mom! |

Hi! I'm Jill and mommy to 3--Brandon will be 13 next month, Christian is 6 and Addison is 23 months and I BF all three for various lengths of time. I am an OB nurse and also recently finished my Breastfeeding counselor course on my way to becoming an IBCLC. I figured that would be a good way to build my knowledge base and gain some more experience. I'm so glad you started this group. Very cool! and thanks!!

Hi, my name is Jessica. I'm 22, with an almost 13 month old daughter who is breastfed. I am currently going to school to become a medical assistant, but eventually I would like to become a LLLeader and an IBCLC. I am going to join LLL in Florida when I move there in March.

I was a bfing Peer Counselor for WIC.
Whenever the next go round of training happens with our LLL, I want to become a leader. That is my next step in becoming an IBCLC...my ultimate goal. IBCLC seemed so far away, but after talking with others who have done so, it again seems like a goal I can accomplish...especially if I can become a LLLL. Oh, I'm Tessa, group owner of the toddler breastfeeding group. I've breastfed all 4 boys, for various lenghts of time. My breastfeeding story is in my journal. I'm VERY passionate about breastfeeding, as many of you already know.

First of all thank you for starting this group.
I am mom to a wonderful 6 month old EBF little boy. I plan on having more children (my husband and I are still argueing over the number) and will certainly be BFing them as well. My first BFing journey had a steep learning curve (for me and my little guy) and without the help from the LCs at my local hospital I am sure I would have quit around the 1 month mark. For this reason I am looking into becoming an LC, but need some help figuring out how to get started. I went to college but have a design degree, so I have no medical backgournd at all. Your suggestions on how to get started on my own road to LC would be greatly appreciated. -Libby Jack's CDing, BWing, EBFing newly treehuggish momma. |

Hi,
I'm Beatrice and my daughter's name is Celese. I had a really rough time in the beginning but we got through it and I'm still nursing my daughter who is almost 3.
