Always remember to FEED THE BABY NOT THE CLOCK...her feedings should be as long as she needs them. Give her a chance to adapt to her new world and life.
You are doing the right thing.
DON'T LET ANYBODY TELL YOU OTHERWISE.
Babies are born needing to suck -- seriously -- and the sucking reflex (which seems like they are oh-so-hungry) is accomplishing several things:
1) it is causing peristalsys in the baby -- that is, the pooping, so he/she cleans out their system and is ready to really eat.
2) It causes your body to produce "plug ins" which will ensure a steady milk supply.
If you try to pump too early and too much, you will get frustrated. In the beginning we produce just enough milk for their MARBLE size tummy.
