Why does everyone that does not "support" Obama make a big deal that he is president elect?  America voted and our voice was heard.  If McCain was voted into office instead of Obama I would not be sitting here and writing post's and degrading him just cause I did not like him.  Everybody has their opinions and views and the last time I checked this was not a website where everyone sits here and degrades what other people believe in and what their views are.  You dont like Obama?  That's fine, that is why we vote for out Presidents unlike so many other countries in this world.  We get the chance to choose who we want to run our country and then when we get a new President it is our DUTY to support him regardless if that is who you voted for or not.  I did not want Bush to be voted in for 4 more years but I supported him cause that is what my fellow Americans thought was the right thing for the country ( now look where we are!).  So, if you dont support Obama then thats fine but please don't degrade someone that so many of us believe in and believe can make a difference for our country.  Please dont turn this post into a bunch of drama.  That is not how I meant it.

I agree...I am so tired of hearing "he hates America" and all kinds of other horrible remarks...it's disgusting really. Love him or hate him you know nothing about him other than what the media tell you...some of it's true, some of it's not. But he's going to be the president and there's nothing anyone can do about it. OBAMA 08!

For me it's not so much the bashing, it's the things that people say that have absolutely no truth to them.  If you don't like Obama, and you want to say whatever about him, fine.  But to talk about him not being American, or him being a terrorist, or what have you, give me a break.

I think its manily because some of the die hard republicans were not prepared to not have a republican in the white house so they are angery and this is how they feel they can get the anger out. JMO

I am a Republican. I didn't vote for Obama. But I do agree with you that now that he is the President-elect, we as Americans need to respect him.  But I also uphold to the first Amendment that adheres to the freedom of speech.  I think alot of us Republicans are just a little unnerved by the things we learned about the man BEFORE he was elected. Yes, some of us may be a little scared at the future, of what it will bring, but agreeing with you again, we need to stop voicing it in a way to cause you Democrats to become agitated. For after all, you all have seemed to swayed most of the offices (as you said, and I agree) of all the forms of government. So you see, not all of us Republicans are angry. I'm not, just reasonably treading softly and observing at a distance to see what will be the outcome. You all have a right to your opinion, as we do ours. Please know that the Democrats are people with difference of opinions even among themselves as the Republicans the same. Not everyone will agree with you 100% of the time, even in your own party. I totally agree with you that drama is crazy and it is so frustrating to talk to someone like that. So I guess we need to be considerate of each other and chill out and later on say?....I told you so.   Remember this is just my opinion and I am using my right of  the first amendment.

The whole point of THIS GROUP is to be able to VOICE OUR CONCERNS.  And yet because we should support our President Elect who happens to be a socialist/communist, WE are supposed to forego OUR RIGHT to FREE SPEECH?

That's not what THIS group is about!  This group is about PRESERVING our CORE conservative values.  It's not about COWERING IN FEAR because some gloating DEMOCRAT says we should.

Do we need to pray for the president elect?  YES.  DO we need to pray that our country survives YES.  BUt that does not mean that we give UP our rights as US citizens!  THat does not mean that we DO NOT say that CONFISCATING OUR RETIREMENT FUNDS does INDEED equal THEFT and by all means should be ILLEGAL.

That does not mean that we do not speak up when a GREAT WRONG such as taking away our first and second admendment rights is even NOW (which it IS) being conteplated by OBAMA and the congress!

This group is about speaking UP, it's NOT about COWERING IN FEAR (in the 'name' of 'unity').

Yes we do have freedom of speech , there is a huge difference between that and slander or defamation of character. Do you really know who Obama is as a person , or are you just spouting off what you heard or read? I don't know either of these men personally , so I will have to wait and see. Bush was there for eight years , and what did he accomplish?  More drama , pain , confusion? He hasn't even been sworn in yet , let's see what he can do. It's one thing to say you don't like the way he delivers a speach , or his opinions on an issue....it's a whole other thing to call him a communist or anything else that is unfounded. Speak on , but opinions , not slanderous hearsay.

First, this group is not "about preserving our core conservative values." At least half of the people in this group believe in separation of church and state that this country was founded on. Second, it sounds like you are "cowering in fear" if you believe Obama is a socialist/communist. And, "some democrat" didn't tell you to be scared, McCain, Palin, and FOX news (and not a single other news source) did. I feel like they really brainwashed people into believing bald lies by preying on their fears. Obama's tax plan structure is NO DIFFERENT than it already is: People who make more ARE in a higher tax bracket than people who make less. And as for the economic bail-out plan, McCain voted for it, too. And if it's the health-care plan that makes you think it's socialism, it will NOT be government mandated. It's offering an alternative to people who do not currently have healthcare. Okay, I know this was supposed to be a drama-free zone, so I apologize to the original poster. I just find it so frustrating that people throw around "scary" words that they apparently don't understand.

Great points. There are so many psychics on here... predictions of the end of the world...

I watched the Nov. 5 South Park last night... it was like they had taken the conversations on CafeMom and used them as the script. Uncanny.
