  • Hi Jennifer!

A very warm welcome to you! I'm glad you could join amid your hectic schedule. I'm going to be posting crafts and instructions and hopefully some of the members will add to the posts.

Maybe you can use one project as a get away kind of a thing. Pick a simple one to do first. That's what I do!

  • Hello all!

My name is Teffany and I am recovering from foot surgery this morning....
This is how my story goes, last weekend I drew up some outfits for my daughter, decided on Monday I was going to go ahead creat the pattern and I was doing great, everything was running smoothly. My phone rang, I hit my jar of pins, there was one needle in the jar. I went answer my phone came back low and behold step on the sewing needle... It breaks into my foot. Go to the ER Monday night, did xrays the needle was there and i am now sent to a foot specialist Tuesday morning..... Who then scheduled me for surgery this morning! ALL IN ALL IT IS MY SEWING FOOT!

I am on pain killers so if this sounds all combobulated...you will know why!

So, name is Teffany, I am a mother of 2 beautiful children, one boy and one girl. they are 10 and 7. My DH is prior military for 12 years, got out last May. His last two years he was a company commader.... trained recruits...5am-10pm, wore him out...He was offered a job that he could not refuse, started in June and is loving everyminute of it.... Speaking of he makes way more than we ever did in the military.  So our fears of getting out have been long gone...

I have lived in GUAM(where my son was born), Houston, New Orleans (daughter was born) Hawaii, New Jersey, Houston and now Corpus Christi, Tx.

I love wood working, painting, sewing, paper crafts, and most of all DANCING! I have been a dance and gymnastics instrutor for over 15 years.

Since moving to Corpus in November, I have been concentrating on keeping busy. I have gone back to sewing which has been thereputic since I don't know ANYONE here.  I have met  ladies on cafe mom only through internet so far, not in person....

I will post some of my pics in a new thread.
Nice to be here and meeting new people!

  • Hi Teffany!

A very Warm Welcome to you! I grew up on Guam. I moved to Maui in 2001 but have been on Guam for most of my life and absolutely loved it there!

How weird these things like your sewing needle incident. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

I'm getting ready to look at the pictures you posted. Thanks for sharing. Don't forget to add links on the left hand side of sites that you own or sites that you think will help us out.

  • I lived in guam from 1995-1999, I taught dance on base and out in town at Camille's Performing Arts Center , it was above ABC Storage in Tamuning off of Marine Drive going North before the IBC Building.

I loved Guam, LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! Senator Nelson married us in 1995, I would love to go back, my son really wants to go there since he was born there. We left when he was 16 months old. We are thinking about sending him there when he graduates from high school. We have 7 years to think about that one, he may not come back if we send him there. He is just like me loves island life, oh and get this his NAME IS KALANI......

he looks hawaiian, lol.... you should have seen in Hawaii if I was fussing at him... locals would look at me like i was crazy....

  • Hi Jami!

It's so nice to see you here! I'd love to see the pictures of your crafts. I haven't done much with mod podge although I do have a bottle ready and waiting to be used! I know mod podge is used in prim crafts for finishing work but I haven't used it yet. I used to do wood work with mod podge and it was really fun. I'd really like to get into that again. It was wood work and I would age the wood place a picture that I really liked and mod podge over it. Of course that was many moons ago and I don't have any pictures but because you mentioned mod podge I'm wanting to now go and make something with it!

Please feel free to share, share, share!

  • Hi all :)  My name is Ashley, I have a 9 month old baby boy named Logan. I'm 22 and my mom and I do primitives all the time we go under the name of Crow Creek Primitives. I just recently started getting into it after about a yr of her begging me to help out. I enjoy simple things in life and I also love cooking from scratch. Everything we make is Hand made. We never buy and resell like many people at craft shows.
Hes a few pics from our last craft show it was just a small one at a church here locally but we had fun. I can't wait to go to Tenn for a big show we are doing.
