How I make recipe cards

I use PowerPoint to start. For the background I use a pattern that looks like parchment paper, that is my filling. On both sides I put a bar and fill it with whatever color matches my theme. This latest one is a pumpkin theme so I made the bars orange. Next I drew a line across and made the line width 3 then colored it orange same as the side bars. I saved it to .ppt and .jpg.

Next, I opened Paint.net and resized it to 6wide x 4high then saved it.

Next, I had my daughter draw 2 different pumpkins, scanned the picture and saved the image as .jpg. I opened it in Paint.net, colored it and resized to the desired size and also got rid of the background, made it transparent.

Oh, I forgot, before I opened the image in Paint.net I went to Picaso to crop the image so there isn't so much background.

After I finish the images I bring down the 6x4 card, click on layer and then click on "import from file." I then drag the image where I want it and get rid of any background need be. I keep doing that til I have all the images I want then I save the whole recipe card to .jpg.

Here's the finishing touch:

Well, that's how I do it and I know it's long but it's working for me for now!
