Organizing patterns

Would anyone like to share how they have organized their patterns? My hubby is finishing off a room for me and I hope to get everything organized. I would love ideas...as now they are just in piles. :\

I have kept my patterns both in a file cabinet and in those rubbermade-type tubs. I stand them up and file them under headings such as "Christmas", "Dolls" or "pillows". That way I can leaf throught them like a file. Works for me. Keeps them organized.
