How long for them to usually catch on?  I've been taking my little guy (11 1/2 months) a couple times a day since Sunday.  I just wanted it to be a fun trial thing - not sure about really hitting the potty training hard right now.  Well he's gone at least once a day every day since, sometimes 2 or 3 times.  Today he's gone pee 3 times with another that was just a dribble.  He's in the same diaper that I put on him this morning.  And the last time he went I took him because he was bugging me.  He kept pulling on my pants leg and whining.  Am I crazy to think that he knew he had to go or is this really just a lucky coincidence?  because he was also tired I laid him down right after and he went right to sleep.

It really just depends on your child, but your kid seems pretty smart. The earlier you can start the better. It helps to put the child in cloth diapers so they feel better what it is like to be wet, get a little potty or a seat, and take them to the potty and give a cue sound with a hand signal, or some way of communicating "potty." I started at 2 weeks and my son is 15 mo, and by no means potty trained, but he does pretty well. Good luck!
