Hi ladies, I am starting EC and my son is 9 months old right now. Have any of you ladies started that late, and if so any suggestions you could offer for me?
Thank you!

We started with our DD when she was almost 13 months old, then slacked off with it until she was about 15 months old. When your son does go potty (make sure to point it out to him while he's doing it so he can associate the sensation with what you want him to do), do a funny potty dance or something...praise the poop out of him! Babies love a challenge and they love getting attention. When he realizes that going potty in the potty gets a great reaction out of you, eventually he'll try to go potty just to get that attention. And make sure it's a great experience all around with no pressure. When DD doesn't go potty, I just say, "OK, no pee-pees this time. Let's put a diaper back on." We also keep our potty seat in our living room. One of the books I read suggested that because that's where we spend the majority of our time and it's already a relaxed environment. And I agree with the PP about a book or toy. When DD sits on the potty, we read a book or talk or something. Good luck!
