my son is 2 yrs old. he will be 3 in september. he has some speech delays and i wanted to get him into a preschool that deals with learning disabilities. well he cant get into one till hes potty trained. the problem that im having is he pees way to much. he only has 1 kidney and i have been trying to potty train for awhile now. it just isnt working. i dont know if he understands or not. he seems to understand. he sits on the potty when i tell him to. i was putting him on the potty every 15-20 min. sometimes it would be longer than that...if i was busy at the moment. he has used the potty before but not consistently. he kinda wont use it anymore either. i could put him on the potty every 10 min and he will pee once he gets off of it. i have tried to bribe him with stickers and hot wheels. his 4 yr old brother was potty trained around this time and he got stickers and hot wheels for the achievement. its starting to get frustrating. i dont get mad or frustrated with him bc its not his fault. i just dont get it. im out of ideas. i just dont know what to do. him having 1 kidney is affecting him a lot tho. :[ any advice would be greatly appreciated.
There are some food allergies that can cause you to need to pee often like an allergy to dairy. Have you tried eliminating any thing from his diet to see if it is part of the reason he is needing to pee so often?
I'm not sure...I'm sorry you're having so much trouble! Just stick with it and hopefully he will catch on. Good luck to you!!!!!
he only has 1 kidney..that causes him to pee a lot! the only thing i dont give them in there diet is apples or apple juice. thats only given to them if they havent had a bowel movement in a long while. it gives them the runs. lol
