I'm sure many of you have heard that this is SG-A's last season. TV Squad reports that there will be a movie that will come out and then following that, a new SG series (with possibly one "recognizeable" face, and the rest, newbies):

Universe will follow a new cast of characters on the adventure that comes after they explore a ship launched by the Ancients, Destiny. The reconnaissance mission takes a dramatic turn when they discover that the ship can never return to Earth. They are along for the ride as the ship carries on with it's pre-programmed navigational schedule. The adventure comes during periodic stops at stargates. The danger is that if anyone is left behind, there is no way to go back for them.

What do you think?

Hmmm, has potential. I wonder who the master villian will be?

Do we know the familiar face? Sheppard? Woosly? Tayla? Is it someone from SG1?

I think it is a bad decision to cancell SGA. The powers to be are thinking of their pockets only. Now with that said, if SGU is anything like SG1 and SGA then it will be a good show. Just for all the wrong reasons!

I think the new show sounds like a combo of Farscape and Star Trek Voyager.

I don't know about many of you guys but it was hard for me to just leave behind SG1 and get into SGA, and leaving behind characters that I had grown to love was not easy, and it took a while to warm up to the new ones. I think if you take out just about everyone and have a few familiar faces it will be worse. Especially if they can't travel back to earth it will be almost impossible to have guest star appearances. I think if they want to start something new they should have more people we have all grown to love or at least appreciate! They have reused people in the past, but for a big fan I must say they did it in an odd way. Eg. They would have a soldier in SG1 that died all of a sudden be a leading Sargent that leads a small team on an offworld mission in SGA, and I point it out to my husband all the time, because it bugs me! Knowing my luck the 'familiar face' will be Anubus, or someone as equally dead! LOL!
