Getting back to building basics :) - biz thread

Hi gals -

Hey I continue to be amazed at how steady freddy my HT business is -- once people start, they seem to go on autoship without much (if any) prompting and stay there.

How cool is that??

Autoship (aka. regular and consistent product consumption by the end consumers) is what long term NWM income is all about. I credit both the product and the simple (yet oh so powerful) paylan with this.

I've been mostly just letting it grow along on its own -- and that's been okay -- but now that I see it's staying power, I guess I'm getting a little excited and I want to see what's possible if I actually put some effort into marketing it ;-)

The amazing part is that all it takes is two happy product users each -- that's it -- doesn't matter whether they want to build a business or just be product consumers. This is SO doable it's not even funny.

So, I've put a blog back online that had been dormant for awhile -- and Trina and I have been brainstorming ideas for 'testers' -- and I want to put the offer out to help anyone in any way to help you help others solve problems.

Doesn't even need to be tea related. We just need to offer agenda free help in whatever way we can -- this builds the relationships and let's them hear us when we respond to their wellness complaints -- it's just that simple.

There's a really good call recorded on the company site of Michael Oliver from NaturalSelling.com - I listented to it this morning... anyone who's afraid of sales would love it.

Share it with anyone who says they're having problems finding business partners or customers -- tell them to ignore the few references to tea and insert their own product names if they want ... it's all good.

I've got more to add to this line of thinking, but want to hear what you gals want first?

What kind of business are you wanting to build? What would be supportive to get there?

Appreciate you!

Andrea

  • Thanks for the link Andrea. I've been selling Holy Tea and people have signed up too without me doing any more than putting links on my blog and my website. Plus a couple have signed up that I got to know here on CafeMom.

As you know-and this might help others-I've been working on a free download for my site about natural solutions for fibromyalgia and of course, one of the solutions is detoxing. The idea of giving free downloads is something new to me but I'm hoping that it will help my biz grow.

I'd like to do downloads for other health problems that might be helped by detoxing also.

In the past I had a Candida handout that I got from a company I was promoting at the time. I put ads on craigs list for a Free Candida Yeast report and got at least a half dozen responses from people requesting it. I'm hoping to do the same with the fibro report later on.

I'd love to hear any other ideas people might have.

  • Yup!  Gotta say I too love the growing business of Holy Tea Club!!  Who could've thought it could be so simple to earn an income stream!?   My husband is even starting to get interested now that he's seen months of a growing passive income.  So cool!!

It's grown nicely on it's own, but gosh the possibilities are very exciting to think what could be if I actively market!

Something I am trying to figure out is how to have various marketing options for various kinds of folks.  Attraction marketing works great for the 'net savvy and those who understand that type of marketing; there are lots of 'old school' and non-marketers too, so I want to give those folks options as well.

Hmm, I think something creative will pop in to my head soon!

P.S.  Andrea - have you thought about your own sig lines yet? : )  I've noticed that my cafemom home page hits are definitely related to how active I am on the various groups here, so I can assume that our sig links will get more hits too.  Trying to venture in to some new groups now and then to add my .02 where it's valuable!

  • I was wondering if anyone here feels their participation in CafeMOm forums or replying to journal posts is actually leading to sales. I've spent quite a bit of time posting here and on other forums and it does bring traffic to my website and blog, but don't really think it's leading to actually selling products.

I get hits on my journal posts and on my profile too but these aren't really leading to sales either. At first, I did make several contacts and some actually signed up for things I have but lately this activity as fallen off.

One forum I'm on, Bella Online, consistently brings me traffic to both my blog and my website, but again, not sure of sales.

Eunice and I were talking about the possibility of starting some sort of online store so people won't have to go through an MLM site to buy products. I know some are afraid of buying products that way and avoid it. I promote some wellness oils, which is basically an affiliate with an online store and I actually do very well with that. I make consistently between $100 to $150 a month and once even up to $200. They aren't an MLM, I just promote the products and people buy them.

This leads me to wonder if there might be another way to promote some of the other products I have, like HT. Make it easier for people to purchase.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?

  • Just wanted to add in my .02 . I decided to add a store to my site to see if people are more likely to buy straight from my site or want to go through the HTC site. I wonder how many clicks it takes to lose someone in the process? If there's a link right there, are they more likely to buy?

We'll see what happens. Here's the link www.healthy-living-for-moms.com/health-and-wellness-products.html . I haven't added HTC yet but this is the general idea. It will be added within those categories. Haven't figured out what to call it.

  • Hi Joan -

I don't see any reason why you couldn't sell HT through a paypal button on your website.

I feel like I've met quite a few people here on Cafemom. Several connections have lead to new customers and or business partners for myself and/or team members.

Is there a 'right amount' of effort to put in here? Beats me.

Maybe getting clearer on who it is you wanna meet would help?

Jackie (someone I met through our Networking Naturally group here on CM -- should add a link there too I guess) just put an interesting post on a new site of hers. It's speaking to prospecting on Myspace, but most of it applies to any forum:

See what you think of that :)

  • Thanks Andrea. I'd thought of trying a myspace page and this is good info.

I guess I would classify the "right number" of contacts made by how many I make vs the time spent. Sometimes I just feel I spend too much time on line with too little result. I'd like to maximize the use of my time.

I liked Eunices store idea. In fact, I already have a link in my navigation to "shopping" which goes to a page where I put affiliate links. I could do a store on that page and already have the link in place.

I did put some paypal links on my HT page about a week ago so we'll see what they do.

    Holy Tea

A friend sent me an article on sales copy and it said you should make your "buy now" and "click here to order" prominant enough and often enough that people know exactly how and where they can order on your page. I get about 25 hits a month right now to this page and have had a few sales but none yet using the new pay pal buttons.
