Hi everybody -

I'm wondering if anyone here has tea and kid experiences to share?

Anything related to using HTC during pregnancy, breastfeeding, younger children ... let's post updates here, k?

Thanks!

After checking with my midwife and doing my own bit of research on the herbs, I used the tea during the last couple monhts of my pregnancy, as well as when I was nursing.  I've heard calls with Dr. Miller also talk of other folks using the tea during pregnancy and during breastfeeding as well.

I also give it to my kids in small doses for general cleansing.  They are very regular already, so I don't want to impact that schedule too much. :)

When I started using Holy Tea (September of 2007), Zane was 11 mos old and is still a pretty heavy breast feeder to this day (9mos later). He has never had any indication that the tea bothered him. Now he drinks it from a cup :)
He's plenty regular, so no need for all the time use.

Morgan, my then 5yo, has always had a 'straining in the BR' problem, though I didn't really realize it till she said to me one day after stubbing her toe -- "ooh that hurts ... " I asked how bad ... she said "You know, like when you poop" --------- BIG alarms!

I felt so badly.

But the tea came into our life shortly after that (cool huh?) and has straightened all that out for her. She decides when she wants it -- loves the taste. Seems to be working out really well for her.

Aleda, my 14yo has been fairly resistent until very recently (as in the last few weeks or so) Goes to show 'ya they have to optin before they'll let it become a habit.

She heard about people's skin clearing up from using it and decided that was something she wanted for herself. Go figure. ... Now she drinks at least as much as I do daily and says she feel 'good'. She mixes hers with cranberry juice (cocktail)... which I find very refreshing also.

That's the whole (kid) crew here :)

That's a very encouraging point, Andrea, about the skin benefits. Solange has been struggling in that area, trying all different kinds of lotions but I hadn't thought of her drinking the tea!

Funny you should ask....I just started giving some to my 6 year...Miss Faith. She was having some trouble moving her bowels and and I thought...ding!!! Let me try giving her some tea. I have her drinking small amounts, before bed every other night or so. It seems to be working nicely for her.

Don't forget about the four-legged pets too!  I don't have any, but I've heard of folks using it for a variety of pet ailments.

Isn't it funny how sometimes just the thing we need is right there in front of us and then we go ... ding! - grin

Wondering how much you'd say is a small amount Carolyn? It really doesn't take all that much I'm thinking. Morgan's about 45lbs and drinks probably a 1/4 of a cup at a time -- or a couple of gulps -- depending on if it's my cup or hers - lol

How cool to have something to ease them naturally so close at hand.

Love it.

This morning from Aleda (14yo):

"Better make some more Holy Tea Mom"

The conatiner we're using is almost empty -- very forward thinking for a kid who often gets down to her last pair of pants and then (having not sone any laundry) wonders why she has nothing to wear the next day.

I bought a glass sun tea jar from Walmart about 6 weeks ago. It has a nice wide mouth and a spout at the bottom like a water cooler for easy dispensing from the fridge.

It's been much easier to be consistent lately :)
