If You Want to Be Taken Seriously a Businesswoman, You Need a LinkedIn Account

It doesn't matter whether you work for someone else, are self employed, own a business, freelance or do direct sales.  If you want to be taken seriously as a businesswoman, you need a LinkedIn account.  And once you have an account, you need to be an active member.

 

Here are eight reason why a LinkedIn account is essential:

 

1. It proves you're serious at growing your business or forwarding your career.
2. Give and receive recommendations from co-workers, customers and clients.
3. Meet business people locally and throughout the country you would not have otherwise met.  You never know who could be your next customer, client or employer.
4. Set up a company profile for your business and it will be added to the site's business directory along side such big name companies as Microsoft, Home Depot and others.
5. If you sell a product or service, even if it is only part time, it proves what you are doing is a serious business venture and not just a hobby.
6. Some employers post jobs on LinkedIn before they post the openings to the general public.
7. The more network connections you have the more creditability your profile will have.
8. Advertise your business and promote yourself.
