Me and my husband are of diffrent faiths, he is having a hard time with the whole "what do we raise our children as" dilema. not sure how to handle this, anyone have any suggestions?
I am an Eclectic Pagan, my husband is Christian. We aren't raising our children to be ANY religion! We both see religion as a personal thing, and not something anyone else should try and decide for you. However, we feel it's important for our children to be exposed to religion. So while we don't TEACH them any one religion, we do out best to expose them to as many as possible. They see us go about living our faiths, but we don't take them to church or involve them in ritual or anything.
Instead we use story, craft and even play time to explore many different faiths. We use story time to read mythology (children's versions) from Abrahamic to Norse to Buddhist to Nature Paths / Pagan and anything else we can find.
I do my best to keep track of religious holidays and try my best to educate myself as to what they are all about. Then we use craft and "play" time to "celebrate" these in little ways. We've even found a few spirituality based games...
