Shabbat Shalom!!   שבת  שלום

Come with Me [Yeshua] by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. Mark 6:31 NIV

Yeshua came and talked with them.
He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.
Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim,
immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh,
and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.
And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age."
 ~ Matthew 28:18-20 CJB

Jesus said to the people who believed in Him,
“You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.
And you will know the truth,
and the truth will set you free.”
 ~ John 8:31-32 NLT

Shabbat שבת
Thank You, Yehuha, we are so grateful for Your gift FOR us:
giving us the 7th day of each week as a Day of Complete Rest !!
WHOOO-HOOOO!!
(and yes, I have been napping a LOT, whenever the gandkids are, too)
(Genesis 2:1-3; Ex 20:8-11, Matthew 5:17)

Shalom  שלום
We praise You, Yehuha, because of the gift of Your Son we can be at peace with You,
no longer at war against You, Your Presence, truth, reality, life!!  We are eternally grateful!!
(John 3:17; John 1:12-13, Romans 11:17, Galatians 5:22-23)

Yehuha blesses you and keeps you,
smiles on you and protects you
Looks you full in the face and gives you His shalom!
 ~ from Numbers 6:24-26

  • I take it you are a Messianic Jew? I believe that is the best religion a person can have. One of God's chosen people who believes Jesus is the messiah NOW. What is the CJB version of the bible? If you don't mind PM me the answer because I don't belong to this group. Thanks! Angel

  • Angel,

I grew up believing I was Christian because of the denomination I belonged  to.  I met Jesus / Yeshua - He found me - will be 5 years ago on the 9th of this month!!! my life has been radically changed and keeps changing since then. And so the lives of my children. And grandchildren.

In December 2007 I met a Messianic Jewish family, who are musicians and missionaries to other Jews. They are great, Spirit filled and Spirit lead people. I wanted to know more about Messianic Jews,  and so came to know a whole lot more about our Lord and Savior. Who was born Jewish, lived a sinless Jewish life, died, resurrected and ascended Jewish! The bible makes so much more sense understanding the culture and context, and the idioms.  I'm learning so much.

I would be considered Hebrew: "one who has crossed over".  My choice of lifestyle is to believe Yeshua, He says, come follow Me. And the bible reveals how to live life with the most possible blessings, and that we are IN the Kingdom of God NOW, as soon as we accept Yeshua as our Savior, and choose Him to also be Lord over our lives. over and over God proves Himself faithful to His Word and promises in our lives!

CJB is The Complete Jewish Bible
edited / compiled / translated by David H Stern
it's in English, with some "common to Messianic congregations" Hebrew transliteration words and names; and many references in the back: index, glossary, cross references, parashot, Scriputre readings for Shabbat and holidays, and some maps.

    at first I thought that it was named "the Complete..."  because it's from Beresheet (Genesis) to Revelation;
then I learned that Messianic Jews consider themselves to be "Completed Jews".
and then, knowing how much God loves word plays,
I figured that BOTH are true.

    I own a copy (from off amazon.com)
but when I'm quoting it online, I copy/paste from  crosswalk.com
to avoid typos on my part.

I also have a hardcover copy of David H. Stern's Jewish New Testament Commentary

Romans 11:17 tells us that when we accept the Jewish Yeshua as our Lord and Savior, then we ARE grafted into the house of Israel! Whether or not our bloodline/heritage is proven by DNA testing to be Jewish or from any of the tribes of Israel..  Adopted into the family, and the blessings and promises!
    WOW.

    God IS good,
    ALL the time!
