I'm posting this on behalf of the owner of "One Day of Peace." It sounds like a worthwhile project. The owner was very respectful of our choice of language, that many of us reject the term 'birthmother' because the meaning of the word is that we are NOT mothers past the act of birth. Please think about posting of your experience.
Hello Ladies! I am the owner for the group One Day of Peace, and I have asked your group owner if some of the mothers on here might be willing to stop by my group to help promote Peace by Celebrating and Embracing Motherhood. We know that there are a lot of stereotypes and misunderstanding that get pushed on different types of mothers and we are hoping that by sharing our personal stories we will be able to clear up some of that.
We are hoping that you will stop by this link and share your story of what it is like to be a natural mother of an adoptee. What challenges do you face? What was/ is the hardest part for you? How did you feel about becoming a natural mother of an adoptee? Are there any misconceptions or stereotypes that you would like to see corrected? Any things you wish other moms knew about being a natural mother of an adoptee?
You do not have to be a member to reply to the post, and the link will take you directly to the post for natural mothers of adoptee's. You are more then welcome to look around if you wish however, and read the different stories of different mothers. We only ask that, like our members, you try not to provoke people by attacking them for their choices. Our group is based on respect and tolerance and we expect that from everyone. And of course, if you run into trouble or have any questions, do not hesitate to let us know!
Thank you so much for helping out, we look forward to seeing you stop by and learning more about natural mother!
