We have had problems from the beginning with the Denis Browne Bar- I ordered a Dobbs Brace though and that seems to be helping. It allows the legs to move independtly so they feel like they have more freedom. I am not sure about a bar with a flat bottom though, but my daughter is only 3 months so it isn't something I need to worry about yet.

Hi Kayla, I can relate to hating the dennis brown bar, my 2 1/2 year old had to wear one after his heel chord surgery (three weeks later) and he hated it it wouldn't stay on it rubbed him the wrong way so my husband was going to make a new pair, he's an engineer so once he gets and idea into his head in won't go away, but fortuantely while researching what is available he found Dr. Ponseti.  He's in Iowa or Idaho, I can't remember exactly but he makes a bar that is a godsend, I literally mean it!  It's available only through his web site but see your orhto first and talk to him about it!  It's the reason my boy can walk with straight feet, i wholeheartedly believe without it he would never have kept the dennis brown bars on long enough to straighten his feet.  I almost want to cry thinking about what could have been.  I hope you find what works for your little one.

One other thing, when your youngen is ready to walk you won't need the bars his weight while walking will do effectively the same thing, and then the bars go on at night and when he's resting.  I hope this helps and please if you have any questions your more than welcome to ask.  Good luck and Godbless!
