Hi I'm Casie, 25 from Ohio. My 2 yr old had/has bilateral club foot. I just wanted to do some intros to see where all of you other moms are and ages. If any of us live near one another we could get together to talk and do fun stuff and have someone else who knows the deal with transporting your little one and the challenges of going out in public. Anyone been acused of breaking their kids legs when they had the heel cord surgery? By a strange old lady at the grocery store? Yeah been there and I'd like to share the funny and not so funny stuff with other moms. I'm no expert but I do know what its like and wouldn't mind lending a shoulder for someone elses burden, tears fears or otherwise. So I hope to hear from you all!

Hi, Welcome to the group. My name is Ani I am 34. My lil Nicholas is 6 months old & was born with billateral club feet. He did the serial casting for the first 4 months & now we are trying to get him to see Dr Ponseti. We had some issues with insurance thats why its taking us so long. I didn't really come across a lot of people with the did you drop your kid attitude, just mainly people who were like oh no what happened? (sincerly)
I hope you enjoy the group.

Hi, my name is Lynne..we are living in Germany. I met my husband over the internet..long story..lol. I have 3 kids, my first one 18 yrs, 2nd is 4 yrs and Lilly 3 and a half months. She was born with bilateral clubfeet. Her father also had it as a kid so i guess it shouldnt have been a shock, but it was since our son 4yrs was not born with it. It was not seen on the ultrasound. She is doing really well, been thru the casts, cord release and is now into her brace. They use here the Alfa-Flex shoe and brace. The first nite with the shoes and bar were terrible, the second better, she is now back to her old self.
Yes, i have had the strange looks when she had the casts on, and it will make u crazy. I even get the looks now since she has the bar on and of course 20 questions. I make the answers short and sweet. I just tell them Lilly has her own little snow board..lol...I look forward to reading what other mothers have to say, and maybe we can give each other some good tips along the way!!
Welcome to the group!
My name is Katrina and I am a 30 yr old mother of 3 clubfooted boys (Todd-7 BCF, Phillip-5 LCF and Grant-3 RCF). I am also due to have our first girl anytime. She also has a LCF. They all inherited clubfoot from their BCF father! I guess you can say the gene is strong in our family! We started out treatment with a Dr that partially does the Ponseti method and then have seen Dr. Dobbs in St. Louis the last 3 yrs. However we just moved from Columbia, Missouri to New Orleans last year for my husband to further his career as an Orthopedic Surgery Resident. There is no Ponseti approved Dr within 6 hours of us now. We have not yet decided what we are to do with her treatment . . . guess I should get on that, but I am hoping that it is extremely mild or positional (fat chance in that I suppose).
