Looking for a pediatrician in the HB/Newport area

We really like our Ped.  Her name is Dr. Tran and she's with Edinger Medical Group.  She has an office in HB off of Beach Blvd. (just before Ellis) and an office at the Orange Coast Memorial Hospital campus off of Brookhurst and Talbert in FV.  She's very thorough and informative - and nice too.  The other doctors in that practice are good too.  When Dr. Tran isn't available we use Dr. Dias (pronouced "Die - as", not "dee-as"). He's also very thorough (and funny!).  It's easy to get an appointment there too, even same day appts.

Where are you delivering?  Hope it all goes smoothly for you!  I had a pretty easy delivery...long, but relatively easy.  Don't listen to the horror stories.  The only advice I'll give is: be good to the nurses and they'll be GREAT to you.  Good luck!

 

I LOVE Dr. Abelowitz, he's at Coastal Kids in Fashion Island shopping area. I drive from HB/FV area because he's so great. Good luck

Katie- My kids see Dr Pepek who is here Locally. Her office is on Beach/ Newman and  who also works w/ Dr Chang and Dr Furmizo(ALOT of children have Dr Chang locally) here in HB. I went with Pepek because I just really liked her when she cared for the babies in the hospital and she was a younger doctor but still really educated. I'm very happy. Not sure who your Ins thru but, Mine is w/ Great West, I delivered both my childern @ Hoag Hopspital and will now ONLY use Hoag for any Emerg type situation in the Future. I'll NEVER use HB Hospital after what I experenced with my son last year. Good Luck!

I use Dr Somers who is part of Greater Newport  located in Newport Ctr. He is a Family Practioner who also cares for Babies.     

We see Dr. Jones. He is great and we have been with him for almost 5 years. He is apart of Talbert Med. Group in HB. 714-968-0068.

We use Dr. Pepek too!   We did see Dr. Kasamatsu who is actually upstairs from Dr. Pepek but I felt like she was just going through the motions and felt rushed and not really informed about anything.  My husband's aunt is a neonatal nurse at Hoag and recommended Dr. Pepek.  We really like her too.  She splits up my sons vaccination shots without even asking her to do it.  I was really happy with that.  I also had my baby at Hoag and will only go there for emergencies.

Dr. Michelle Bennett is amazing. She is with Beach Pediatrics over on beach/talbert area.
