Hi everyone! Welcome to Snow Monsters. Please share a little about yourself and family snow activities!

I'm Jill, a 31 year old working mama of my toddler Malachi who got his first pair of skiis this year!! He is now 15 months old (next week) and has already used them twice in Vermont. We ski every year in New England over the holidays and also 1-3 trips out west. We live in Maryland so the skiing here is not too good. DH got me into the sport when we met- he has skiied all his life all over the world. I grew up ice skating (big hockey fan) and used to go to school in Vermont.

Let's hear it for Ullr! Think Snow!!

I'm Kim, 21 year old mommy of 3 1/2 year old Xavier from Massachusetts. He just started ice skating this winter and is doing awesome. Does better than me already (ice skating was never really my thing). My boyfriend and I go skiing in VT and NH at least 10 times a winter and tried with Xavier once this winter but he didn't do so hot. He's going for lessons before the end of the season (paying someone to teach him seems like the way to go with this one). Snowmobiling is one of our past-times also. Oh' and we're big snowman people. LOL If there's enough snow for a snowman, then there's one in our front yard.

I'm Tre' were from Colorado, live in a very small mountain community. Population 800 full time residence and our elevation is 8200 above sea level..We get lot of snow, We Telemark, and do quite a bit of Back country skiing, we do huts. We have a 2 1/2 year old, who was on skis this season, I'm thinking lessons next season,,We have a Cabin close to the ski area, so when it's not rented out to guest,,were in it..we ski Monarch..WE hike in the summer, tent camp every weekend if we can..Hope to share and hear more of your adventures with the little ones..

Hi Kim and Tre'! Nice to meet you both. VT and NH are my main ski places, although dh wants to retire out west since he says nothing is like the skiing there! I went to Norwich in VT for undergrad, so that was my snow indoctrination... and then dh taught me to ski when we met (9 years ago).
Thanks for joining. It's kind of the wrong time of year to start this group, but maybe we can build it up for next season  : )

Hi all!  I'm Debbie, married with a son.  We live in western MA and have skied in MA, VT, and NH.  My husband's sister lives in Aspen, CO and is always after us to visit her to ski there!   We haven't been yet this winter because my son got Mono a month ago...there was a chance of an enlarged spleen from it so skiing was a no-no until the danger period passed.  Happily he checked out fine yesterday and we're in the middle of a snowstorm here now so hopefully we'll be going soon!  My son is also on the ski team at school so he can finally participate in that.

wow- a ski team at school- that is so freakin' awesome! I hope his healing goes well.My son is just getting over the flu and I had tonsilitis, so I feel ya.

Hi my name is Claudia, we snowboard  in New England , Argentina and Chile , my husband has been in Alaska dropped by a helicopter in the middle of nothing  and then snowboard down the mountains , he said it was AWESOME  !!! He also does splitboard .
Our 4 year old got in the snowboard last winter did not do so well  ......this winter she is doing awsome we have gone to Conway a  couple times and she loves it !! My 2 year old will try next winter .
I'm glad I found this group , I love it.
During summer we can talk about  Camping and Hiking , we are going camping in a couple months !!

Hi, I grew up in VT and started skiing at 13 months. I'm currently living in CT with my husband (who had to learn to ski if he wanted to marry me, lol) and our daughter Ali who is 18 months. I want to get her ski's for Christmas this year so we can all hit the slopes. I'm already looking forward to skiing this year as the weather starts to get colder.

Hi! We really seem to be in the minority! It's been hard to find other ski mamas! So glad you joined :) I love CT and VT! I used to live in CT and in NH and went to school in VT... we go to the Mad River Valley every chiristmas.

My son was also about 12/13 months on his first skiis. He will be 2 this year and some resorts will even let him have an official lesson! Last year he even went to Sun Valley :) We are excited about this season too.
