"Garbage In" = "Garbage Out".... Improving Your Christian Walk

The Bible, God's Word, says to 'renew the mind'; also to 'die to the flesh'. Well, we have many senses, we see, hear, taste, smell, have emotions and we also have 'habits' in our lifestyle to which we have grown accustomed we actually take them as 'truth'. Satan can use these outlets to 'move' our choices.

Since we are born into sin and until we accept Christ we have 'habits' or just plain learned actions & reactions that are not of God but stem from the deceptions of the ol' deceiver! Satan can only control us if we allow him. He can push or persuade us by manipulating our actions & reactions by tempting us to make hasty choices to satisfy us. Satan wants to satify our senses or emotional well being BUT his satisfactions are only temporary.

If we feed our bodies needs physically & spiritually with things of the 'earth' it's like the ol' saying....garbage in garbage out....Now I'm not saying all things of the earth are bad, just that what 'choices' we make while here can be bad. And the deceiver is going to manipulate and persuade us to make those choices. Just as Eve & Adam were deceived in the garden. The fruit of the garden was ALL for them. They were just not to eat of that one tree! One commandment for Adam & Eve....ever thought about that? One rule and satan deceived them both.

In Phillipians Paul says that we are 'to work out our own salvation with fear & trembling'.....that doesn't mean we are to be afraid because perfect love casts out all fear. Fearing God just means that we respect God and His laws, love Him to the point we desire to follow His ways because He only gives us 'good ways' to follow. He loves us He doesn't come to condem us. He wants us to know Him, to know His love, and He wants to bless us.

So how can we improve our walk with the Lord? With a renewing of our minds and sacrificing our flesh. Changing our old worldly habits and by reading His word we can get the 'good stuff' in that helps push the old stuff out. A lot of times we cannot just stop doing the 'old ways' BUT by substituting the good stuff for the bad stuff....Jesus, thru the Holy spirit inside us grows when we nourish Him with the word. We have old habits to break. We need to speak God's words over ourselves daily to push the lies satan tells us out of our minds. In the book of Colossions Paul speaks a lot about dying to the flesh.

Speaking God's words over our lives is just like the apostles speaking good words and prayers over the believers back then. In the letters they always began the letter with good words spoken over the people. This is how we should treat ourselves and each other.
