Discussion: yoked, joined together,
here we go robin :)
i was looking at:
Matt. 19: 6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Joined together is LITTERLY " YOKED" (G4801) what God has Yoked together, let no man divide.
i thaught that was amazing, so i started thinking about 'yoked'
Matt. 11:28 Take My Yoke upon you, V30 my burden is easy, and yoke is light.
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
i looked up how to make a yoke, you take a large tree and trim it down to a beam size, this made me think of 'get the plank out of your own eye befor you can help your brother' lol
theres two peices to a oxen yoke, one on top, bow shaped, this made me think of 'bow of bronze' (Ps. 18:34) the Holy spirit is the bow of bronze, our prayers are the arrows. that just stuck out to me, but havnt really been able to make it fit or connect to what i was thinking. neat though.
other part on the bottom, you sorta place it over and line up the one the underneith and connect them to each other in the center. purpose for the yoke was 1. if a younger ox needed to be trained it would be yoked to a more mature ox, the stronger ox could guide the ox and also has strength to guide (even if the younger ox is trying to do its own thing).
another purpose for the yoke was it evenly distributed the weight being pulled. (part of the definintion for yoke was' the balance beam between two scales) w/out hurting the ox.
if an ox was smaller then the other, the yoke would be lopsided and the bigger ox would be bearing the weight and uncomfortable while it was working.
if the size/lenght of yoke was too long, it would add unneccisary weight and be more of burden to carry w/out accomplishing any more work,
one scripture says i baught a yoke of ox, where ever you see that, it means i baught 2 ox.
ox is a working animal
a yoke of ox can plow a feild in a day, this made me think of agreement, and unity, we know the field is harvest of souls, and we also know 'break up the follow ground (hard ground)
also, when i thaught of 'two peices of wood joined together in the middle, 'it made me think of '(1st piece) your rod and (2nd peice) your staff they comfort me (Ps. 23) which is Your Word and Your Spirit" comfort me, and also made me think of 'the three cord strand is hard to break'
ok, thats all i can think of for now, feel free to share anything your thinking, cause i feel like im still missing somthing here to put it all together, you know that, 'hmmm feeling' lol
