i want to make cookies for my dd bday party and i have those edible markers that i want to place out so they can color on the icing and make a picture on it. ive made the hard icing before, but i forget what recipe or type it was. can anyone help me

I use royal icing:

 

1 cup of confectioner's sugar

1 TBSP meringue powder

2 TBSP water

 

add drops of water until your reach your desired consistency, either for piping or flooding.  For best results, allow at least 24 hours for icing to dry before using the markers.

Fondant works really good for that too!
