Have you gone to lettertogop.com i think that is the site.... anyway, there is a push to get the gop to avoid selecting mccain. It has over ten thousand signatures. I checked, that is the site. So, I really want to write rp in, but not if it means throwing a bone to the dems, so I am taking polls online to see who is going to write him in. I might do it anyway. Well, let me know and add me as a friend. I am kinda new and really need the friends! :-) Thanks so much everyone! and please read my post on my page, we are hoping for some votes.

If a write-in vote would count, I would definitely write-in Ron Paul ... BUT in Illinois IT WON'T!!! (nor will it in most states)  The majority of states have strict write-in policies and unless candidates have followed all write-in proceedures (which Paul's campaign has chosen not to do) a write-in vote simply won't be counted OR reported.

Before deciding to write-in the good doctor, we Moms for Ron Paul should contact our state board of elections and/or county clerk to see what each of our state's poliicy is regarding allowing and counting write-in votes.

Check out my thread here for a few more details at:
Can Ron Paul Run as a Write-in Candidate for President? Not in Illinois! Not in Most States!

...  And for more dialogue regarding write-in voting drop by  the Libertarian Moms thread at: Who can be a Write-in Candidate for President ????

It would seem to me, that if he can not be written in, in ALL states, then there is no reason to write him in at all. We're really going to have to figure out who we're going to vote for in his place. It would be great if all Ron Paul supporters vote for the same candidate but everyone has their opinions and beliefs... etc (and rightfully so). In a nut shell, if we don't all vote for the same "replacement' candidate, then we're pretty much screwed because we'll end up with a Dem or Rep. anyway. (double sigh)

UPDATE 8/2: I'm voting for Bob Barr.
